To be fair, the 360 version is worse because it has too much detail. Everyone knows that the sparse environments and lack of legible textures found in the PS3 version are more accurate to time period depicted in the game. Typical Xfag spin, trying to claim that visuals trump historical accuracy. :dizzy

Yep, it's just personal preference for me.  :elephant

My only gripe so far is I am constantly clicking my left thumb to run.  :duh

Really, it doesn't seem to be Bayonetta-level bad.  If I only had a PS3, I probably wouldn't care.

Multi-system owners who get the PS3 version over the 360 version are plain 'tarded though.

That is pretty much true for any multi platform game

No, there are some exceptions.  FFXIII, Devil May Cry 4 (IIRC), and Hokuto Musou come to mind.  And wasn't Dead Space supposed to look better on PS3?

Nope, both Dead Space and DMC4 looked better on the 360.

Also, FFXIII on the 360 came with 4 discs!  Unless you're a dirty fanboy, why would you want less of a good thing?

Well, some people who own both the Ps3 and the X360 got FFXIII for the latter console.

Now that is distinguished mentally-challenged.

Didn't you play it on the 360 just 'cause it was "free"?

Real talk, if I only had a PS3 I wouldn't really give a shit. Both games look pretty comparable and the end product is still the same. I don't know why people make an issue out these comparisons anymore. Multiplatform releases by and large look marginally better on the 360. The sooner we accept that the better off everyone will be.

Because it's not marginal in most cases.  "you can't tell the difference anyway" is just the newest spin from the Sony camp.

Nope, I've bought the Ps3 version.

Played the X360 version also. The quality of the movies almost made me puke. Definitely a downgraded port.

Don't DMC4's cut scenes run at 30FPS on 360 and 60FPS on PS3?  I remember reading that.  And with Dead Space, it was some lighting thing?  High dynamic range lighting or something or other?  I have no idea if this is bullshit or not.

I got both games on PS3, for the record.  DMC4 just to have something to play on PS3 at the time (although I never did play it) and Dead Space because I wasn't sure if it was region free for my J360.

Point is DS and DMC4 are best on PC :smug

RDD is best on 360. So far :smug

Borys, do you even have the right PC and monitor to run those two games properly?   :P

Speaking of DMC, how was Devil May Cry 3 on PC?  Anything enhanced over the PS2 version?

360 had a locked 30 fps in cut-scenes while PS3 had an unlocked 30 to 60 fps.  The main difference is that the 360 version had 4X MSAA while the PS3 only had some blurry-ass quincunx AA.

Dead Space had better graphics and a more stable framerate on the 360.  http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/xbox-360-vs-ps3-face-off-round-15-article?page=2

But like Borys said, both games ran much better on the PC.  DMC4 on my PC run well above 300FPS with a 1080P rez, 32X AA and much more detail.  There's even a PC exclusive mode that has several times the normal amount of enemies on screen.

Same assets as the PS2 version but you can run it at higher resolutions.  That game didn't age too well though.  I tried it recently and even at 1600x1200, it looked pretty bad.

I also fooled the computer, by intentionally bluffing and having it call my bluff and losing with garbage hands - so when I went all in, it thought I had garbage, but was really rocking a pair of aces. Suck it computer!

I'm starting to wish they made this game a more like Fallout 3/Bethesda RPGs.  I've only done a few of the main missions but I'm loving just riding around, exploring, and doing just random tasks.

And maybe it is just what I like about westerns, but the cutscenes are a bit much.  It's just on and on with the overwritten banter at times.  At least if you're gonna have more talking while riding to the destination, keep the cutscenes brief.  That said, I like the main character.

A Western RPG done fallout style would be dope. That being said in an open world game I'm the type of gamer who actually needs a strong narrative story element. All open world action games get a bit repititious and if I don't have story hook to drive me forward and push that out of my mind, I lose interest. I've noticed that all the open world games message board types loves are the ones that bore me because they are very light on story.

I'm normally the guy who champions gameplay over narrative in videogames but for open world affairs and RPG's I need a story or characters to drive me to finish.

So, I was killing some Hawks to farm money. I shot one from far away and went after it. The bird landed near a dead woman laying on the ground with her husband standing next to her. When I neared the couple the husband kneeled and then shot himself in the head. Suicide.

That was pretty awkward. The hawk landed a few inches away from the woman's dead body. I looted the bird and the couple. Nice catch.

In multiplayer, do you get to make a custom character or is your whole posse made up of clones? Or do you pick from a group of skins?

You pick from a group of skins that you unlock as you play.

Right now Multi is nothing but a bunch of gank posses who run around looking for single target kills, but run and hide when a group comes after them.

I assume you can have a private game?

Does one character have to use his gamesave as a host environment, or is it exclusive to multiplayer? It'd suck if I invited my friends into my game and they wiped out a town or something.

Multiplayer is horribly broken. The character models don't like to load in after a respawn (I have the game installed, don't know if that's fucking with it), which makes it really fun trying to shoot at an INVISIBLE person. You can just see their name over where they are supposed to be.
