The actions of one stupid Obama supporter has little to do with the election or the campaign. Just as those Republicans who slashed the tires at an Obama rally or whatever have little to do with it. These kinds of stories only have use if you want to DETRACT from the election, and turn it into a game of "which sides supporters are worse". And to be honest with y'all:
If the conservative party in my country was running an incredibly shitty negative campaign that relied on misinformation, spin and exploiting irrational fears instead of facing the issues ...
If the leader / candidate of that party had as many embarrasing slip ups as McCain and Palin have had...
If their idea of "straight talk" was bullshit...
If I was faced with people dumb enough and so ignorant of their policies that they supported them to spite themselves...
If they were not only voting for them, but helping them with their grass roots campaign...
AND if I'd just generally had a bad day....
I'd probably wanna beat people with sticks too. The only people that should support McCain are investors in weapons and energy contracts tied into the war on terror, the dying breed of racists, and people worth more than a quarter of a million dollars. Or you know, anyone with some other vested interest in seeing him win. Because from what I can tell, his campaign has been just fucking horrible. It shouldn't be as close as it is. Anyone who thinks an Obama win will see the White House painted black, and the socialist endtimes begin - needs to look at the perfectly fine state of other countries around the world with leaders that are FAR more leftist.
If McCain wins, I will conclude that democracy is done and people are just too stupid for it to work.
