i massively regret the $400 i have squandered, although my daughter is enjoying endless ocean. stupid shortages!
note that i find my wii purchase more disappointing than the following distinguished mentally-challenged purchases i have made
-- the 3do
-- the savage s2000 video card
-- the hp/compaq pocket pc
-- the 37" crt hdtv with gross geometry errors
-- the sega cd
-- the growlanser games
-- shenmue
why did i not learn from eel o'brian's example :'(

No way it was a worse buy than that Savage card. Was that card even good for anything outside of original UT?

Prole actually gave this to me when I bought him lunch one day. And it is indeed useless.

That's too bad. After seeing all the commercials and articles about senior citizens enjoying the Wii, I figured it'd be right up Prole's alley.

it does suck, but I love the shortages. I was able to buy one at retail, play the must-play games, then sell it off for more than I paid.
Now that Brawl's out, there isn't a single other game that interests me coming out for the system. Besides maybe Fatal Frame 4.

House of the Dead is pretty good mayne. Don't get why they didn't put number 1 in there.

I had a Voodoo 5 for several months. The Voodoo 5 was the same as the Voodoo 4, except the Voodoo 5 had 2 chips instead of 1.
It was actually a much better card than reviewers give it credit for.
Nvidia did a great job of marketing the Geforce 1's Hardwae T&L even though it was a basically useless feature.
After a few months with the Geforce 1, I replaced it with the Voodoo 5, which was the first card to support full scene anti-aliasing.
With FSAA turned on, the image quality was simply stunning.

Why didn't you like Voodoo 5?
Like I mentioned in the previous post, Voodoo 4&5 actually shared the same GPU but V4 only had 1 chip while V5 had 2.

i was fine with my voodoo 5, but i only had it for six months before i switched to a 64mb geforce 2

I had a voodoo5 too, but I traded it up for a gf2 not too long afterwards. It wasn't a bad card, but not a chunk of greatness like my Voodoo3.

Me three. Got my Geforce 2 about 6 mohths later also. Voodoo 5 still had better image quality but the Geforce 2 was way faster.
I skipped the Voodoo 3 though. I used a TNT 2 ultra and had 2 Voodoo 2s in SLI for 3DFX compatibility.

I fuckin' like Nintendo games. I'm stupid. Oh well, I don't regret my purchase. I play my Wii and 360 about equally. In all honesty, I just haven't played a lot of games lately. I think I'm growing out of it.

I still can't believe you bought one, man. Look, there are those of us that got suckered in by hype and false promises at launch and are now making the best of it, but you actually bought one knowing full-well in advance what a shitpile the software situation is.
That is some poor judgment on your part, and you don't seem like the sort to usually make that kind of mistake. Then again, looking at your list of shame, maybe there is a pattern.
in all honesty, i bought it for my daughter, who LOVED endless ocean when i rented it whilst borrowing tvc's wii. it's really not my thing, and i knew it -- i just jumped on an opportunity to get one when i had the impulse money.

seriously, 10M+ units sold in a year-and-a-half and all they have to show for it is super mario galaxy? has there been a shittier console library EVER? fuck, i could find at least *3* decent 3DO games in the same timeframe

No matter how anyone tries to deflect it, the Wii is a Gamecube with worse third-party support.
Which is funny, because the GameCube was an N64 with worst third-party support.

Eh but if they use this gen's tech then that's just PS3 and 360 again which isn't that terrible really. Nintendo will (read: better) go 1080p next round so how that'll end up is anybody's guess.
