Didn't post yesterday but I got to press the button to officially submit our game for Beta on the PS4. This was after some ridiculous scrambling the day before to get information that we didn't know we needed (because our publisher has not been the most helpful at times).

Felt pretty good.

Went out to the food trucks in front of the building for lunch.  Way more people than usual considering the time of day.

Then I see a sign that says Xfinity is paying the bill for lunch today.  I looked around and saw nobody from Comcast standing around, proceeded to order, and sure enough...it was free.  So I got a bit extra.
 :woody

The guy in truck seemed just as confused and was like "I don't get it either man...but they're covering the bill."  :lol

I got a cat about a week ago, and she has completely stolen my heart. Her name is Steve (I didn't name her but I like it now), and she's a fucking weirdo in all of the best ways. She snores, she herds, she is considerably less graceful than most cats to hilarious effect. She's also super sweet and seems to like me (was told she didn't like to be picked up, but she lets me carry her around as long as she isn't belly up, and she doesn't claw the shit out of me when she wants to get down) so that is definitely ingratiating.

I wanted a cat for a while, but I've been kinda anxious about pet ownership since I'm a manbaby, but it's worked out splendidly.

Klutzy, silly cats are aweome. Our 15 year old kitty Spock has no front claws, almost no teeth, doesn't run or jump much anymore (and wasn't great at either when she did), snores in my ear when sleeping at night, and has developed a bit of a drooling problem but she's always ready to cuddle or play or lay on the back porch on nice evenings. Goofy cats are the best

My boyfriend, massive lovable dork that he is, made a 6-month anniversary video made up of photos and Snapchat vids of us set to one of my favorite songs.

From the act itself, and the memories the video brought back, I've never felt so loved.  :tocry

Recently I was diagnosed with fatty liver and had a biopsy (aka get stabbed in the liver) done a few weeks ago.  This all started a couple of months ago when I started feeling extremely tired/fatigued during the day and would have trouble staying awake.  Weekends were usually spent sleeping for entirely too long throughout the day.  I went to a sleep specialist and was told I had sleep apnea and needed a CPAP mask.  After I saw the liver doctor and he did the biopsy, he told me to change my diet and cut out carbs and sugar whenever possible.

I've been on that diet for a few weeks now and have lost 10-12 pounds already.  But the best part of this is that the week I was supposed to get fitted for a mask, I got more energy.  It was literally like someone flipped a switch and a surge of energy came back into my body.  There are some days where I might feel a bit tired and take a short nap sometimes, but there's already been a noticeable improvement.  Enough so that they held off on the mask.
:rejoice

I'm going to go back for another sleep study sometime next month, just to be sure, but I'm pretty confident I'll be fine and still won't need to go the CPAP route.  My biopsy result was also positive, given the circumstances, in that my liver isn't getting all scarred and they told me that if I keep doing what I'm doing and losing more and more weight, I'll be cured.  Good news.  :pimp

So I've been working on a cost model for the better part of the year.  It was something I volunteered for with no experience in it.  I've never taken any math class beyond High School Algebra but I read lots of articles, took some online "courses" and figured out the coefficient variation and standard deviation math required for it.  It's probably amateur shit but for me it's pretty advanced.  I was pretty sure the math part was good.  I asked a few people for guidance to make sure I was understanding things correctly and they were kind enough to help out.

I built the model on the future state of our data.  I was in the middle of a long cleanup project of redefining and cleaning up our data.  So when I first put it in the model and the results were underwhelming I was okay.  But then I did a refresh in June and my reversions actually got a little worse.  I did some analysis and double checked my math and determined my problem was due to the cleanups.  For example new categories that had a really small sample set and so large deviations.  I told myself (and management) that it would smooth out with continued cleanup.

So I refreshed for the last time this week.  This was my last chance as another (much larger) project was relying on my cost model and they needed it by the middle of December.  So I plugged everything and refreshed.  Man!  Everything came out much better than I had hoped for.  It's almost ridiculous how spot on the reversions are.  Professionally I had a lot riding on this so I'm really friggin glad.  It's going to make my Thanksgiving much easier because I'll be able to relax as I have to present it to two Directors in a couple of weeks.
