Booking my hotel and stuff now. Getting Luxor to hang with the founder's club Sat 4th-Monday 6th. How do I get a general admission badge for Evo? I looked on the site and all I see is registration (which is like for players and I'm not playing) and the Sunday finals $50 badge which seems totally not worth it because

Someone on a date was telling me Vegas has the some of the best Chinese food in the world currently because so many people from China are vacationing there for gambling. If that's true it'd be nice to eat some top digs Chinese food for a meal.

Ok, talking to Kara and it looks like the plan is Kara and I arrive Sat afternoon, check in and then meet up with everyone and do some crazy Bore shenanigans all day/evening/night. Then wake up Sunday hungover and go watch the Sunday Evo finals together with everyone and then more bore shenanigans after, then check out and head back Monday.

Heyo, so I saw Evo announced the Sunday lineup and it only has 5 of the 7(?) games. Noteably BB Cross Tag battle is not in there. So does that mean the Grand Finals for BBCrossTag are on Saturday and not included in the Sunday Grand Finals tickets we got? I'm assuming that's so, which is a bit of a bummer since that is probably the only game in the lineup I'd be interested in seeing high level play since the game is MvC3 levels of broken nuts.

Friday and Saturday are pools/convention days. You just buy a spectator pass at the door (has been $40 the last couple years) to the main competition hall and have access to the whole thing for the weekend. That includes viewing pools on the main stage, access to enter side tournaments, artists alley, merch tables, and the arcade / game demos section.

Schedule will be out by early next week if you want to know when BBTag top 8 is happening.

Yeah, these days EVO is basically a fighting game themed convention. The last few years have also had a indie game demo station to play released and unreleased indie games. I believe Soul Calibur 6 and Smash Ultimate will also be playable there.

Plus there's the BYOC section which is just people bringing consoles with their favorite games to play and a whole section of Japanese and American arcade cabinets set to free play.
