Absolutely, and there's no question about it. The executive branch has broad authority on immigration and the current state affairs, the ongoing humanitarian crisis, is completely man-made as a result of the explicit direction and ideology of those in the administration.
- The DHS should be increasing funding and resources to the processing of immigrants and refugees due to the exceptional situation but instead is metering the border, stonewalling refugee applications, etc.
- ICE is actively prosecuting people who provide humanitarian assistance for undocumented migrants like water, shelter, and getting them in touch with services available to them
- The administration is putting extreme pressure on Mexico to do the dirty work for us, instead of all of NAFTA's members coming together to process refugees as is our obligation under international law
- the administration is overfilling detention centers specifically because it is ideologically opposed to catch and release, i.e. the idea that noncriminals are not inherently dangerous and can be trusted to report to immigration authorities as has been the norm for decades
