We had a real life example of the deterrent power of US troop presence (and the commitment it represents) just one month ago, when Turkey moved against the Kurds only after American withdrawal.

As best I can tell Nintex is assuming that the "limited" warfare permitted by the current international system is something that will persist in perpetuity and not a confluence of certain variables.

Erdogan would've rolled in anyway, forcing the US to open fire on a NATO ally or decide not to.
The idea that with US backing the YPG could create some sort of Kurdish state on Turkey's border with Erdogan in power was asinine.

The entire Syria policy on the part of the US/EU has been a disaster on all accounts.

Did you feel it in your bum knee, or what?

The idea that with US backing the YPG could create some sort of Kurdish state on Turkey's border with Erdogan in power was asinine.
Keeping them out of Syria would have been enough, which is what this is actually about.

The U.S. prohibited the SDF from participating in peace talks but we're supposed to believe there was a credible threat of Rojava statehood forcing epic genius guy Erdogan to do an invasion.

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2019/mar/28/poverty-increases-among-children-and-pensioners-across-uk
Quote
The number of children and pensioners in absolute poverty increased in 2017-18 as inflation and accommodation costs took a bigger chunk out of household finances, according to figures from the Department for Work and Pensions.

Inequality also jumped in response to rising incomes among the richest workers and the second year of a benefit freeze that hit low-incomes households, the DWP said.

Anti-poverty groups called for government action to reverse the trend, which most analysts believe has worsened since last April. They expect it to worsen further under government policies, with poverty and inequality increasing until the middle of the next decade.

UK electorate: More of that please.

LONDON — Boris Johnson is on course to win a 68-seat majority in the U.K. general election, according to a major new poll.

The YouGov seat prediction survey — which accurately predicted that Theresa May would lose her majority in 2017 — said the Tories would win 359 seats (up 42) with Labour dropping to 211 (down 51) if the election were held tomorrow.

Nothing like going for a coffee and smoke break, only to be told that no one is allowed out of the building because "there's a shooting on London Bridge".

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/topics/c9ydw1lqjxrt/london-bridge-attack

I'm fine btw, thanks for asking you jerks :hmph

Quick summary:

- piece of shit starts stabbing people (2 dead, 3 injured). Starts at (or just outside, not clear) the Fishmonger's Hall on the North side of London Bridge.

- random people start kicking the shit out of him. That includes someone using a fire extinguisher, a guy convicted for murder who was on day release, and someone who grabbed a fucking narwhal tusk from a wall at Fishmonger's Hall (I'm not joking).

- cops arrive within 5 mins, get the civilians out of here. They end up shooting the guy as he revealed he had a bomb vest/belt (which turned out to be fake).

As a reminder, London Bridge was where, in summer 2017, a group of pieces of shit went around slashing people with machetes.

Hilarious. Why do *you* keep falling for obvious propaganda (which this is)?
As someone accurately posted below that tweet, this is quite reminiscent of the Nazi propaganda movie about Theresienstadt concentration camp from 1944, which the Nazis made to show how well they were treating Jews.

Happy or not this does not change the fact that the people are locked up against their will being 're-educated'
If anything it simply confirms what has been reported about China incarcerating large numbers of innocent people who will soon yearn for their freedom and the Hoff.
