I'm aware of what it is but it seems like as soon as I just "flow" instead of trying to force shit to happen things start clicking.

Now I just need to figure out how to get into a "flow" with my art/design career and I'll be golden.

I didn't realize how high brow this wine bar & restaurant is that I'm taking my date to tonight.  :doge

I mean, she did say she likes wine and Spanish cuisine. Also, I've been meaning to check this place out for a while. :yeshrug

Spence, since you live in the mountains area, are most dates an hour+ drive for you? That sounds kinda rough.

Have a date with red head girl tonight... might cancel to play Destiny 2

Destiny 2 will still be there when you get back from eating the butt.

Everyone has a butt, butt's are not in short supply, especially for a dude like Spence.

My date with the cute graphic designer went down really well.

Had a ton in common. We talked about work mostly but we're both passionate designers so it made sense to.

Ended up making out with her at her car and she seemed down to meet up again.  :rejoice

Canoe trips sound like great first dates until you're out on the boat, drinking a bit too much and realize you have to go pee really badly.

I’m on a cold streak, fellas. After breaking up with my girlfriend I took a couple months off of dating completely. Then a week in Europe with no success to come back to two weeks of striking out on the apps and in real life. My app matches stop talking after a couple of messages and twice I’ve gotten numbers at the bar to not get a response after texting. Maybe the universe is telling me my dating break shouldn’t be over yet?

Naah, Samson, it's just a stream of bad luck. Just keep putting yourself out there.

Funnily enough, when I came back to the dating world after a 6 month hiatus, I met someone great right away that I went out on a few dates with. That didn't work out (she thought we had nothing in common, which was true to an extent), but it convinced me that "this was gonna be so easy". Then I hit a massive dry spell where I couldn't get past 1 or 2 dates (if I was lucky to even get a date), until a few weeks ago :P

What apps are you using?

You're gonna be fine. Sometimes it's like this. I feel like when you take a break and this happens it's normal to think you're doing something wrong, or have lost the touch. But it's just coincidence and things'll be alright over time.

Have you paid for tinder? It kind of seems like a shitty thing to do. You only get one of those boosts a month and they only last 30mins and if you use it and then don't just sit there swiping for those 30 mins you've wasted it. I guess unlimited swiping is good but 100 a day is fine. Also the ability to see those that have matched with you is I guess in a good tier.

Bumble is cheaper and you have the option of rematching with previous matches. Though you can always see when you have a match is coming up and usually it's someone a few swipes away. With thier paid thing though you can actually see thier face and profile.

I think that mostly the paid versions of these don't offer anything worthwhile.

Still no luck what so ever on these things.

I matched with some 36 year old who looked like a slightly less attractive Leana Paul who asked if I wanted to go out for drinks. I guess simply responding yes was too much for her. Unmatched.

"Totally, let's go to [bar/restaurant name] at [time]."

Gotta be the man with the plan.

My dates even remarked that they like that I pick out places and set up times.

edit: And I did pay for tinder just this month & last month but I'm not renewing my subscription for October.

I accidently paid for Tinder when I signed up (thought + was gold where you could see who liked you) and couldn't figure out how to unsub in the app (so I thought I was unsubbed) for like 2 months before seeing my credit card bill and googling it and finding it under apple wallet subcriptions, so yeah fuck paid Tinder!

A lady message me on OKC!

After some chatting through it today and yesterday, I asked her out!

She gave me her number!

Now I have to remember how to schedule an actual first date.

Scheduling a first date is honestly the most stressful part of dating in my opinion.

It's definitely up there. Luckily she ended up not being into any of the fancy suggestions that I didn't actually want to do and we went to a dive bar and drank cheap beer all night (well cheap for LA anyhow).

She was super cool and we had plenty to talk about, but I have to admit that I wasn't really feeling overly physically interested in her and that's kinda bummed me out. I'm not really sure what to do about the situation, but I haven't ghosted her or anything lame like that.

That sucks, but you can't help what you're attracted to. I say it's worth giving her another chance, maybe you'll grow to being more attracted to her...

I found out the girl I'm dating likes ice skating... used to go all the time back in HS but haven't been in years, so I'm really psyched!

In English what do you put in the word "dating"? Like you have a thing together, going out etc but not officially together? Or do you mean "going on dates" where you don't even know the girl well yet?

There's a difference between dating and being in a relationship.

I've never dated multiple women at once, like they do in movies. Like, I've go on multiple dates within a week, but they were one-offs. But taking multiple women out at once is a costly proposition.

Well, for me it's that in-between where you're not "official" yet but have been on a few dates already and it's kind of expected you'll go out at least once a week.

Being in a relationship isn't defined by some arbitrary time limit, it's cemented by when you ask someone to pluck a back hair or the first time you take shit in the bathroom at their apartment or another gesture of true intimacy
