Anthony should not be starting for anybody. I wish commentators would STFU about his intangibles and effort and occasionally mention that he is literally the greatest offensive liability in the entire league. As in, no matter how great his D, his offense is SO BAD that he hurts them every time he's on the floor, even in an offense where he barely has to do anything.

I agree.  I'd rather the Heat get a competent center instead of going after Nash.

Just as a general note, I'm going to say the Lakers are as much of a title threat as any team out there imo. It all depends on whether Kobe decides to try to superhero his way there. If he does then they have little chance. If he actually plays smart and lets players like Sessions, Pau, and Bynum do what they can do, I legit think they are dangerous. More so than last year.

Sports commentators tend to harp on guys who do things "that don't show up in the box score."  But the stuff in the box score is generally pretty important.  It's not like they randomly chose which things should be documented.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Kobe having a shitty game and taking too many shots. He is 5 of 17. Let's see how much he forces it in the 4th.

Durant is also having a shitty shooting game but at least he has to shoot the way that team is constructed. Kobe has a lot more options on the inside by comparison.

My problem with Anthony isn't so much his offense which is indeed world class bad but rather how undersized he is for the position. He's very active and such but he's constantly getting out rebounded and out massed by other centers. I guess they think they can get away with that because of the makeup of that squad but its a glaring weakness against teams like the Bulls, Lakers, and the Mavericks last year.

Kobe Bryant 7-25 23 points.

Andrew Bynum 10-15 25 points.

I mean its really that simple. You don't need to be a genius to see what the problem is here.

Kobe is shooting the worse FG% of his career since  his 2nd year in the NBA.

Bynum by contrast is averaging a career high in points at 18.2 And he's shooting 58% while doing it.

Yet nobody will say the truth in that organization.

If Kobe is even in the top 5 for MVP voting it will just go to show nba reporters and broadcasters don't know shit about the very sport they cover.

Less than a month after Sacramento approved an arena plan to keep the Kings in town, the NBA reportedly had to step in to keep the deal on track.

After the team's owners said they do not believe they should pay their portion -- $3.26 million -- of arena pre-development work, NBA commissioner David Stern told the Sacramento Bee that the league will pay the first installment. Sources told the newspaper that figure is $200,000.

"Following the agreement in principle ... the parties have been attempting to reach agreement on funding the pre-development expenses that must be incurred in order for the project to move forward in a timely fashion," Stern said in an email to the Bee. "Those discussions have stalled, but I have advised Mayor (Kevin) Johnson that the NBA will advance pre-development expenses on behalf of the Kings pending our report to the NBA Board of Governors at its meeting on April 12-13."

Maloofs are embarrassing.

Kobe Bryant 7-25 23 points.

Andrew Bynum 10-15 25 points.

His  chucking is worse than Iverson's because the 76ers really didn't have any good secondary options.

Celtics have really turned around their season after getting off to such a wretched start. They've won 14 out of their last 19 games. First place in their division. If the playoffs started today they would be the 4th seed against a very beatable 5th seeded Pacers.

They aren't any real danger to the elite teams but its nice to see the veterans go out with a nice run instead of whimpering out like it looked early in the season.

Kobe is 0/15 against the Hornets right now.

He doesn't deserve to make an All-NBA team, not even 3rd. Fuck leading the league in scoring. He'll be lucky to finish the season shooting 38%.

I'll always ask. How is Spoelstra's job not in trouble? He's by far the worst coach imo of any "contender".

Wondering why fans still chant MVP for Kobe at Staples, check out the trash that passes for sports journalism in the Laker fandom:

http://www.ocregister.com/sports/bryant-346596-bynum-game.html

I would like to see how much more insufferable Dave Mcmenamin and Ramona Shelburne could be without a national audience to call out their idiocy.

Luckily, there's finally someone prominent who is willing to step up and tell it like it is:

http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/kobe-bryant-becoming-big-problem-for-los-angeles-lakers-033012

It's basically what Cormac has been saying for years, "Kobe will age like shit".  Too bad Cormac doesn't have a bigger forum than EB.

man modern basketball shoes are fugly

black people explain the infatuation to me
Sneakerheads aren't infatuated with the basketball sneakers that Smooth Groove posts.

Actually Lebrons are more popular as dress shoes than balling shoes.  That's why Nike is releasing upcomping elite and low-top versions in addition to the endless colorways for the L9.  Personally, I like playing in them.  They perform almost as well as the Hyperdunks but are much safer for the ankles, imo.

goddamn, LeBron is trying to give away his MVP. He has sucked donkey dick since his Not-a-Concussion, and KD is flipping out like a ninja, killing your whole town. I was ready for a defensive battle with the Bulls (who are the 3rd best team in the league when playing without Rose, so forget about anyone else for COTY again...) but they got steamrolled. Meanwhile LeBron puts up how worst-ever plus-minus, a staggering -30. Ooooooouuuuuch.

Time for my monthly heat rant!

After watching so many heat games the thing that always amazes me after two years is how bad that team can look in a half court offense and how despite the statistics saying they are a good defensive team, they almost always get beat by the same offensive philosophies and rarely adjust to it in games.

They look great when the other team is making mistakes and they get out on the break and score easy points. They look very average often in situations outside of that.

Agree with all that. Also, KG made Bosh his bitch again. I mean, LeBron struggled but at least put up some numbers. All Star Chris Bosh was held to 4 pts by a grandad who may well retire next year.

Would like to see the Cs get one more shot at the Heat in the playoffs before KABOOM. They won't win but they should be able to bloody their noses if there are no more catastrophic injuries like Rondo's elbow.

I would have traded Bosh for a legit point guard before the trade deadline. I don't hate the dude. And he plays well enough. He's just not the piece that team needs imo.

Norris Cole is a decent enough young player but he didn't provide the true lift at the position I was hoping for.

Philly - Heat on now. Not a great team for the Heat to break out of their slump on. Sixers are usually fun to watch though.

hmm, the Heat have officially benched Joel Anthony in favor of Turiaf. A bit late but a sensible move. Turiaf is pretty weaksauce but usually hovers around league-average PER etc, doesn't take bad shots, hustles. Kinda like benching Bibby - far too late, the replacement is nothing to get excited about, but still they had to do it.

Wade has been the best Lebron stopper this season.  Everytime he's back, Bron's numbers go way down.  My workout partner and I both thought that the Heat should have traded Wade for Dwight before the season.   Yesterday, Colin Cowherd also said that the Heat should trade Wade if the Heat doesn't win this year.

I'm a fan of Wade too but I just think he is too proud to be the Pippen to Bron's MJ, which is the way it should be.  Now the Wade for Dwight trade probably won't go down because Dwight looks like he might stay and Wade looks like he's lost a step.

Turiaf is a great hustle guy off the bench but he chases too many blocks and ends up out of position for rebounds and puts more pressure on other defenders.
