Clutch? I think you are overrating his role in the offense a tad. Give credit to the guy who created the open shot, not Haslem.

Perhaps, but when this is a team where 90 percent of the offense hinges on Wade and Lebron, him hitting several jumpers is pretty big.

Dumb last play. I don't want Lebron taking a long jumper to try to win the game. Try calling a real play you shitty coach.

I can't see why you're blaming Spo on rebound last-shot chance.  He didn't draw that up, he prepared for that open Bron lay-up, which missed as well.  Shit was all on Lebron.

I'm not even sure what the problem is.  Besides the usual Heat "assumed fouls" when Lebron or Wade drives, the only bad call I can gather was the no call on Rondo getting hit in the face.  But that ultimately wouldn't have made much a difference.

I'm so fucking sick and tired of people complaining about the refs when they could complain about, you know, the other team playing poorly.  KG was doing shitty things at the end of the game, Pierce fouled out, Allen missed a few open three's, and that horrible Bass foul.  Rondo was really the only player worth a fuck doing anything.

both wrong and pointless replies!

Remember, I actually follow my logic, while most just shit out logic to explain their opinions. I quit MLB after being a lifelong A's fan. I haven't watched a whole baseball game in five years. I won't be watching the rest of the NBA playoffs.

Yeah, I don't get it, and I'm the Celtics die-hard here. LeBron and Wade are amazing at drawing fouls, and a hobbled team like the Celtics isn't going to get to the line much on the other end, so of course there is going to be a huge disparity. The no-call on Rondo was bad, especially considering all the other shit that got a video review in this game, but I recognize that those can be very very hard to call at full speed, especially with all the flopping that goes on. I was ok with with refereeing, myself. Bill Simmons' freak-out on twitter was dumb....

As always I like Bill Simmons but going in you know his biases. Any bad breaks or bad calls against a boston team are a cause for a senate investigation. I expect it. For what its worth I feel the same about etiolate. I find his righteous anger adds flavor to the thread although of course I don't agree with him.

I love Simmons, but twitter is not the place for considered, rational b'ball commentary from him. The bloggers and statheads are sooo much better, dudes like Seb Pruitti, Hollinger and Ethan Strauss. Their commentary is essential to me now, much moreso than anything the actual game-callers say....

PER is a lighting rod. So he tends to be the symbol for it. Also people don't like it when numbers go against sort of basketball myths like Kobe is the best player in basketball still.

It's easy to focus on a bad call especially a late one and then spin other numbers to create a conspiracy theory. It happens all the time. And its very easy when you are predisposed to not like certain players or teams, or even the way fouls are called in general. I once saw Jordan and Pippen hack the shit out of the Pacers and mark jackson in a crucial game in the playoffs nearly every time he brought the ball upcourt and it pissed me off. Suddenly for awhile everything Jordan and Pippen related pissed me off. It happens.

That game was physical on both sides. Miami missed a ton of FTs down the stretch of the fourth quarter and should have lost, but clawed back in. That's not the ref's fault.

Obviously everything revolves around the Lakers/Kings for Etiolet but jeez, come on breh

people hate hollinger because he uses stats to say "top X" when stats should only reflect that they are stats that measure certain things

All the error comes into attributing an argument to those stats and thinking it overwrites the ability to analyze a game. But stats don't lie and your analysis is just like opinion man is often I need stats for I lack in the ability to observe and understand. Never forget that Hollinger had Marbury rated as the #1 PG for a year or two over guys like Nash.
