Yeah.  Contraction of playoffs, regular season games, or of teams only happens when a league is hemorrhaging money, which the NBA emphatically is not.

I'd rather the games be more spaced out and teams have more time to practice and more time to heal injured players. There's a theory it would help with all the raw talent that comes into the league before they're really developed into a NBA player, but I'm not sure that it would actually help. It would benefit older teams.

Fewer games with more rest time would also benefit teams that give heavy minutes to a small number of players, ie The Star System.  Which isn't bad in and of itself, but...

Also hockey and baseball please.

sorta late, but cavs rehire mike brown

 :-\

cleveland just can't catch a break.  if they get lebron back, maybe there's some hope, but I don't foresee that shit happening.  I think its more likely that kyrie goes to miami tbh

Who were you holding out for, Phil Jackson?

Kyrie would be giving up a bunch of money to go to Miami, and Mike Brown might get him playing D. Isn't Brown technically the coach who holds the Cavs' all-time win record? (I refuse to use the word 'winningest' but god it was tempting there)

I wasn't holding out for anyone, let alone phil jackson.

Mike Brown's success in Cleveland is purely due to lebron, let's not give the man too much credit.  He's a decent defensively-minded coach but I don't trust him nor his assistant staff to get kyrie to play much better on D.  His only truly great defensive players as a cav coach with lebron and sideshow bob.

The Game Time app is being annoying as fuck actually, randomly showing scores when you change games or whatever, even though i have 'scores OFF' set everywhere I can find it. It is amazing how fast my eyes can dart to a final score :gloomy

the constant updates are weird - sometimes they improve it, sometimes they make it worse. Overall, I love it but MAN, I just NEVER want to see the scores of a game I haven't watched. I have a million other ways to get that info. I understand why others would want it but if I have it set to OFF in the app options why does it constantly ask me to turn it on again?

anyhoo, watching Clips - Grizz basically live now. SHould be a great game even if the series is basically over.

There seems to be a growing sentiment out there asking why is Joakim Noah busting his ass for the bulls on one leg while Derrick Rose has been medically cleared to play for awhile now but isn't. Not that all injuries can be directly compared of course but Iman Shumpert was seriously injured on the same day as Rose and has been back since late January. The one year Anniversary is approaching in a couple of days. (Rose was injured April 28, 2012)

I can't help but think some of the backlash is because of how poorly the people around Rose are communicating the situation about what is going on.

Westbrook, who famously has never missed a game in high school, college or the pros, will assuredly miss extended time. The typical timetable for a meniscus tear is 6-8 weeks, though Metta World Peace did return from one in 13 days. That’s an extreme case though.

Westbrook was hurting the team with his ballhogging.  Now they can put in a pass-first PG and proven winner in Derek Fisher.

I wish Ray hadn't become Benedict Allen last offseason. Would have been nice to see them go for one more run with the same core.
They would be in the exact same position they are in right now. Boy would that be entertaining.

guess all these injuries mean Bron will get his second "half ring." First half in a lockout shortened season, second in a season missing multiple players due to injury (Rose, Kobe, Worstbrook)

Hollinger did a great Insider piece on injuries during the post-lockout season and concluded that basically there were always stars missing from the playoffs and that every year we have the tendency to think the league is cursed or favoring one blessed team or that the schedule is causing freak amounts of injuries but that this is really not the case. You have to look at injuries to non-stars who also play big minutes to really put it in context. Without a doubt, too many injuries are suffered, but then any injury is 'too many'.
