Very little chance of that happening but then its Dwight so who knows. Like I said earlier the smart move would be to go to the Rockets. But then its Dwight so who knows.

But then again, also as a basketball fan who enjoys curry and thompson and bogut, I don't want a cancer to spread to a young and exciting team.  decisions...

Btw I still say Dwight will do the most absolutely dumb option in front of him and stay with the Lakers. I think he's that immature and short sighted.

The Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks have reached agreement on a three-team trade that will send J.J. Redick and Jared Dudley to L.A., league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
The Suns will receive Clippers point guard Eric Bledsoe and forward Caron Butler while the Bucks – who facilitated the deal with a sign-and-trade of Redick – get two second-round draft picks, sources said.
Redick received a four-year, $27 million contract that includes a trade kicker, sources said.
Under new general manager Ryan McDonough, the Suns are moving swiftly in reshaping their roster, acquiring a center in Alex Len, the fifth overall pick in the NBA draft, and atalented, young point guard in Bledsoe.
Phoenix can't negotiate a contract extension with Bledsoe until after deal is finalized on July 10.

Kevin Martin has reached an agreement on a four-year, $28 million contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Martin's agreement comes after the Timberwolves also struck a deal to re-sign Chase Budinger for three years, $16 million.
Martin, 30, averaged 14 points on 45 percent shooting for the Oklahoma City Thunder this past season. He came to the Thunder as part of the preseason trade that sent James Harden to the Houston Rockets.
Martin has averaged 17.8 points in nine NBA seasons, distinguishing himself as a dependable 3-point threat.
The Thunder have been pursuing free-agent forward Dorell Wright as a possible replacement for Martin, league sources said.

The Sacramento Kings have pulled their offer to free agent small forward Andre Iguodala, according to a person with knowledge of the decision.

After making a four-year, $52 million bid, the Kings will now group and decide the next move in their rebuilding efforts. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of the situation.

With the team now under new ownership and being run by new general manager and former Denver Nuggets executive Pete D'Alessandro, Iguodala - who was traded to the Nuggets last season after spending his first eight seasons in Philadelphia - became their top target after the New Orleans Pelicans came hard for Kings restricted free agent Tyreke Evans.

But the Kings wanted an answer from Iguodala, who was still considering returning to Denver while also being pursued by the likes of Detroit and others. When Iguodala wasn't prepared to give the answer quick enough for the Kings' liking, they made the calculated decision to go a different direction. What direction that is however, wasn't immediately clear.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/2013/07/03/andre-iguodala-sacramento-kings-contract-offer-nba-free-agency/2485297/

So the offer was smaller than first thought and Iggy was waiting to see if a bidding war would start. Kings didn't want to be used as leverage and wanted a answer now.

When Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant spoke to Dwight Howard on Tuesday, his words to the free-agent center resounded an unmistakable and unflinching message: Let me teach you how to be a champion.

"You need to learn how it's done first, and I can teach you here," Bryant told Howard during the Lakers' presentation, witnesses in the room described to Yahoo! Sports.

Bryant didn't come to Howard's recruitment meeting in Beverly Hills to appease him, but to challenge Howard to stay and embrace the burden of the franchise's culture and embrace Bryant's demanding disposition. Bryant invoked Michael Jordan's hard-driving ways as his blueprint, and how it pushed the Chicago Bulls to six titles.

Bryant, a five-time NBA champion, insisted he wouldn't retreat in pushing Howard every day, that as much as the Lakers needed Howard, Howard needed Bryant and the Lakers, too. "You have to learn how it's done," Bryant told Howard, witnesses described. "I know how to do it and I've learned from the best – players who have won multiple times over and over." "Instead of trying to do things your way, just listen and learn and tweak it, so it fits you," Bryant told him.

Howard has retreated to Colorado for a few days, surrounded by representatives, to make a decision on his future. The Lakers are fighting frontrunner Houston, Dallas, Atlanta and Golden State to sign him.
At times in the 2012-13 season, Bryant and Howard clashed over decidedly different day-to-day approaches to the game. Away from the floor, Howard's lighthearted tomfoolery clashed with Bryant's relentlessly serious-minded way. Bryant is rehabilitating a torn Achilles, but is expected to be back early in the Lakers season.

Before the Lakers ever traded for Howard a year ago, each player had reservations about playing together, about how they would blend. As the Lakers struggled, the construction of a relationship was clearly strained, but there were times when they found common ground.
If this was goodbye between them on Tuesday, Bryant had gone out the way he had come into a relationship with Howard: telling him his basketball truths, his beliefs, his way.
"You have to learn how it's done," Bryant told Dwight Howard on the way out of the Lakers, or maybe the way back into them.
Only now, Dwight Howard gets the final word.

It's not hate I have for Dwight Howard. It's a lack of respect for how he handled the whole Orlando thing. Going to Houston would gain him some respect from me personally as a mature decision. I think staying with Los Angeles and playing with Kobe Bryant which is someone that clearly he had issues with is a dumb move in the short term but long term is probably a decent idea.

Sources close to Howard tell me Kobe's reported pitch in Tuesday's meeting about teaching D12 how to win will be a "complete turnoff" to D12

Chris Broussard so take it with a grain of salt but how fitting would it be if Kobe drove off another big man with his ego.

In other news Tyreke Evans to the Pelicans, Al Jefferson to the Bobcats, Belinelli to the Spurs, Earl Clark to the Cavs.

One one hand, I give credit to the Cavs for not overspending on shitty FA's, on the other hand, this team is going be in the lottery again unless they get a quality big or wing through some kind of trade.

I guess they don't have much choice but to pin their slim hopes on a Lebron return or some team dumping salary at mid-season.

On a serious note I'm a little surprised and I actually really like the decision. I think he fits Houston so much better than he did LA. And the extra little cherry on top is spurning the Lakers franchise and stuffing it in Kobe's face.

Now cue all the Lakers stories about what a nightmare Dwight was and what poor Kobe had to endure for the next week.

Between McHale and Olajuwon you guys have two of the best low-post scorers of all time at your disposal.  Can you imagine the two of them teaming up to give Dwight some personalized instruction?

Yeah I don't really have any illusions of Dwight suddenly becoming an offensive monster. While Lebron is better in the post than he was, its not like he's suddenly Dream like on the block and he at least had the agility you would think to potentially achieve such a thing. That being said I don't think Dwight needs to be the second coming of Olajuwon for them to be super successful.

Also Asik is now trade bait. As is most of the roster except Parsons and Harden.

Morey's been stockpiling assets looking to trade for an all-star for years, and now he's done it twice (hell, three times if you count the aborted Gasol deal).  Nice to see smart decisionmaking, long-term thinking, and flexibility paying off instead of just the dumb luck of the lottery and the tanking it encourages.
