I doubt Oden will play half the season, if that much.

I think most people are assuming this. He is essentially envisioned as a playoff player to go against the Bulls and the Pacers. Basically the defensive version of Mike Miller they are hoping.

Beasley should be more productive by comparison during the regular season.

Don't know what to expect from the Kings/Nugs game tomorrow. Both franchises had overhauls. Malone hasn't even announced a starting five for the season.

In a recent meeting with the coaching staff and some team executives, Dolan said he believes the Knicks have enough talent to win a title and that he expects them to do so this season, league sources with knowledge of the owner's message during the meeting confirmed.

"He told them he believes they have enough talent to win it all," one source said, "and he expects it to happen this year."

Just like the Heat I don't care about the regular season at this point. It's nothing to really follow for the heat anymore. There are teams where it matters but the Heat aren't one of them.

It is embarrassing to get beat by a historically bad 76ers team but whatever.

The calls Blake Griffin gets are ridiculous. He hasn't accomplished anything of great note. Why he gets sent to the line for every-play contact blows my mind.

...Boogie Cousins!  Stern's blatant pro-Sacramento bias is disgusting.  What a joke.

Why is the bore worthless at sports threads. =|

Cousins gets fouled a lot. A whole damn lot. At the end of the Nuggs game, all Denver was doing was having Hickson mug him in hopes of anything of any sort to stop him.

I am not sure what you mean by physical stuff, but Blake's game isn't physical. He's athletic, but his game is speed, agility and the athleticism. He's soft though.

Not to speak for PD, but Griffin goes hard to the rim pretty frequently, which is why he led the league in dunks last year.  And taking lots of shots at the rim is basically the #1 factor in in drawing lots of free throws.  Call it physical or not, but his style of offense explains his relatively high (but not even top 20 in the league) FTA/FGA ratio.

He goes hard on dunks, but that's not dealing with the physicality of the interior. Lobs and setups are a different beast from the bump and grind. Blake's game isn't that much different from Shawn Marion's.  Blake goes to the line a lot because he was getting superstar calls very early on his career.

Yeah, but attacking the rim hard as the dive man in a pick'n'roll, or on a cut away from the ball is still going to put you into the teeth of the defense, and at higher speeds to boot.  The list of FTA rate leaders includes a lot of bigs who mostly don't operate out of the post, like Tyson Chandler, Reggie Evans, DeAndre Jordan, Chris Anderson, Jonas Valanciunas, etc.

And surely the obvious comp for Blake on those Phoenix teams would be Amare?

It was basically the same turnover all night long.  Clippers were jumping the little safety/out pass across the perimeter.
