Well at least this period of alternate NBA jerseys will provide comedy years down the road.

MEANWHILE IN BOOGIE PORNLAND

The Kings are going to be accepting bitcoin and having coaches wear google glass by the end of the month.

All-Star game should get some Moses Malone Google Glass and stick it on somebody for the game.

Oh, and I promised Boogie Porn.

Rajon Rondo IS BACK TONIGHT

:rejoice

One of my favorite PGs in the league is back to salvage the Celtics season.  Quick, lets get Cormac back as well!

Rondo with limited minutes was a factor.  8 points 4 assists and 2 boards.  Obviously not showstopper numbers but he showed flashes of what makes him, him.  Should be great to watch going forward.

Also, Olynyk was great to watch tonight.  25 points, 7 assists, 5 boards.  Dude looked like a monster.

Eh ... He will get his Barkley MVP trophy, but it won't be because he's the best all around player.

In other news, the Cavs have been shooting like a professional basketball team. 100 point games are not an abstract concept anymore.

if the thunder continue to win with westbrook out, and durant putting up 30+ a game, he's winning it for sure.

Durant's game was insane tonight. And yes if he continues on the same pace and the Thunder keep winning on the same pace he will get the MVP. But you still have a good long season left.

Yup, especially if voters think of LeBron as taking his foot off the gas.  Though he's at the point where he can put up a 21-8-10 on just 13 shots and it's ho-hum.

Even if it's a Barkley/Malone voter fatigue MVP, it still shouldn't be as bad as the one that went to Rose.

Yea, I don't want to discredit Durant. Especially when you factor in the talent imbalance between the conferences. But it's hard to imagine him putting on this kind of pace and not breaking down or burning out at some point. Still another half of the season to go.

You mean the season when Rose led his team to 62 wins and the #1 seed in the conference?

Aw, what happened to the new and improved AWESOM-O?

Look, you're gonna defend Rose's MVP because he beat LeBron, whom you hate.  I get it.  I am, however, interested in whether you realize you're doing that, or whether you've actually convinced yourself that Rose was the best player that year.

Look, it's not like you can take Rose off those Bulls teams and still expect them to win 40+ games. They would have been lottery garbage without the Humble MVP leading the way!

Yeah, Iverson's was bad.  Doesn't make Rose's any better.  The Bulls won on defense that year, including a killer second unit with Taj Gibson and Omer Asik.  IIRC the Bulls had pretty small change in +/- when Rose was on the court, compared to the huge boosts that LeBron, CP3, Howard, Dirk, etc. gave their teams.  So yeah, the wrong guy got it.

2010-11 was when we had the great moral panic of the NBA.  You had The Decision, Carmelo forcing his way to New York in the offseason, and the beginning of the Dwightmare with Howard not signing an extension with the Magic.

So suddenly everyone gets all Skip Bayless and freaks out about the prospect of elite players getting together on their own, and Rose and Durant get to be the heroes in the morality tale, quiet guys winning with the franchises that drafted them.  The goofiest part was Russell Westbrook putting up similar numbers to Rose while playing basically the same style ball, but getting killed for it, to the point where people were talking about whether the Thunder should trade him.

Besides, if you don't care about Rose per se but just want to keep the trophy out of LeBron's hands, there was a very good case that year that the award could go to someone else.

LeBron got off easy only losing one trophy due to The Decision. I'd have banned him from MVP consideration for life.

Do you really even have a reason for truly hating Lebron?  Like, TRULY hate and loathe him?  I'm seriously curious.  Was there something personal that happened that you aren't mentioning?  Or are you just the worst kind of victim (perpetrator?) of team bias?

You hate the man despite being statistically the best player over the last 6 odd years.?  You hate him because he switched teams to win more (something many players actually do -- Shaq, Kareem, Dr. J, Bosh, Melo, Nash, etc.)

We don't actually hate Kobe, you know.  Did you notice that most of us here were really bummed he got hurt?  Most of us were also really happy to see him healing quickly, and SUPER excited to see him back on the court.  We're also bummed because he's hurt again.

I really cannot fathom your hatred for the man despite being the best player in the league, and doing so much since the Decision to erase people's apprehension towards him.  It's just purely illogical to hate him other than severe team bias.

The Pistons aren’t shopping Monroe but they’re near the point where at least listening would be prudent, although the market for shot-creating small forwards isn’t the greatest (Philadelphia’s Evan Turner, Golden State’s Harrison Barnes), and they’re not giving away Monroe for pennies on the dollar.

And nobody believes Celtics head honcho Danny Ainge will hold onto point guard Rajon Rondo, who just returned after recovering from ACL surgery, at all costs.

The Pistons have always been enamored with Rondo, the ultimate facilitator and competitor. And though Detroit has Brandon Jennings, he’s not necessarily viewed as a long-term option at point guard.

His contract is moveable and the Pistons didn’t hesitate to trade Brandon Knight last offseason for an upgrade. What’s to stop them from making another stair-step move?
This ends in Carmelo Anthony or something, doesn't it?

Monroe needs to be traded, but getting a PG for him would make me laugh. Why did you hand Brandon Jennings a fortune, Joe? Jennings is trash. Not to mention passing up on Trey Burke in the draft for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Or drafting Austin Daye over Ty Lawson.

Trade Monroe and move Josh Smith to PF. Why Joe paid him to jack up bricks from the 3 point line is beyond me.

Watching Smith brick toe-on-the-line threes has almost been as fun as watching Monroe clank elbow jumpers

The east team is lol.  Kyrie has been disappointing this year.  Should have been Wall or Lowry.  And three forwards as the FC?  Lol.  No Hibbert is a joke

The West is okay other than Kobe.  It should have been:

East:
1) Wall
2) Wade
3) Lebron
4) Geroge
5) Hibbert

West:
1) Curry
2) Lillard
3) Durant
4) Griffin
5) Aldridge
