Might be being bought out.
Quote
Here's Malone's response to being asked about the possibility of Terry never playing a game for the Sacramento Kings.

"No I wouldn't...I'm not going there right now. He's gonna come in and he's and we'll have a chance to sit and get to know each other and be with the team and practice. But my main thing moving forward is Ben McLemore. And that's no disrespect to anybody, but we drafted Ben seventh and it's been an up and down season for him at times. But with these last 29 games, there's no pressure on this team. I want us to play together, I want us to play the right way. I want us to have fun and I also want to have a great opportunity to see Ben, Ray (McCallum), Carl (Landry) and Derrick (Williams). Especially to see what they're able to do with the last 29 games."
Quote
Kings coach Michael Malone: "My message to the whole team was stop looking at Hoops Hype."

lol Hoops Hype

Kings finally commit to tank. You may have thought they were tanking before, but it was really just dysfunctional lineup and a bad time to  have injuries.

Deadline deals:
Quote
The Philadelphia 76ers traded center Spencer Hawes to the Cleveland Cavaliers for forward Earl Clark, center Henry Sims and two second-round picks.

The Miami Heat sent guard Roger Mason Jr. and cash to the Sacramento Kings for a "highly protected" second-round pick.

The Milwaukee Bucks shipped guards Gary Neal and Luke Ridnour to the Charlotte Bobcats in return for guard Ramon Sessions and forward Jeff Adrien.

The Golden State Warriors received guard Steve Blake from the Los Angeles Lakers for guards Kent Bazemore and MarShon Brooks.

The Washington Wizards received veteran guard Andre Miller from the Denver Nuggets for forward Jan Vesely. A third team, the Philadelphia 76ers, acquired Washington guard Eric Maynor and two second-round picks in the deal.

The Houston Rockets picked up forward Jordan Hamilton from the Denver Nuggets for point guard Aaron Brooks.

The San Antonio Spurs dealt guard Nando De Colo to the Toronto Raptors for forward Austin Daye.

The Atlanta Hawks received forward Antawn Jamison and cash from the Los Angeles Clippers for the draft rights to Cenk Akoyl (the 59th pick in 2005)

The Indiana Pacers acquired guard-forward Evan Turner and forward Lavoy Allen from the Philadelphia 76ers for veteran forward Danny Granger.

The Los Angeles Clippers sent forward Byron Mullens and a future second-round pick to the Philadelphia 76ers for a conditional second-round pick.
And Jason Collins is apparently going to sign with the Nets.

Outside of the Turner/Granger deal, it seems all the big moves are going to be the buyout signings after the deadline. I think Miller will help the Wizards, but every other move just seems like busywork to balance accounts.

I think the Evan Turner move for the Pacers was significant and will trigger one of these buyout signings you mentioned from Miami.

I like how aggressive the Pacers have been. They are all in. They want the title this season and left nothing on the table.

Neat article in the latest ESPN mag* about how/why Monta Ellis is working for the Mavericks. Basically the point was that the Mavs are uniquely structured to where you can insert a player like that and take advantage of the things he does do well without the problems taking too much away. A big factor being that Dirk drops back on pick and rolls, so teams have to stop Monta from driving (which he's pretty elite at) and also stop him from getting the ball back to Dirk or one of their other shooters. Plus that Calderon is a pretty good backcourt mate for him because he's so efficient and doesn't require the ball (really much of the team is like that), but can still "run" things without clashing in a way that derails the team.

*I got like three years for five bucks or something just for Insider ages ago plus one dollar re-ups, the magazine is usually pretty trash. And I'll never understand why they made it so large.

The insane bit for Lebron's season is that he has increased his FG% yet again from the already stupid numbers he had last year. No one puts up FG% numbers like this in this era unless they are Shaq or some inside player who only dunks.
