Cleveland's reaction if he goes back to Miami will be epic. It'd be like Brandnew getting dumped by his sister again.

Brilliant move by LeBron. He immediately becomes the hero, he has the city and state in the palm of his hand, and I'm assuming he has a long term goal of owning the team one day.

I'm glad he's going to Cleveland. I believe that holds the most upside.

It's unfortunate that Gilbert gets to benefit from this but whatever.

Not likely.

Quote
Carmelo Anthony has narrowed his options down to the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls. He is no longer considering the Los Angeles Lakers, sources told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith.

Knicks president Phil Jackson said Thursday that he hadn't heard from Anthony in recent days but remained confident the All-Star forward would re-sign with the Knicks.

Jackson said the Knicks have made five different contract offers to Anthony, one of which is believed to be a maximum deal of $129 million over five years.

Anthony's agent, Leon Rose, told ESPN.com on Wednesday afternoon that his client "hasn't made a decision yet."

Houston and Chris Bosh moving quickly on securing deal, and with Bosh, Rockets will match Chandler Parsons offer sheet, source tells Yahoo.

I'm happy for Bosh. He got two titles he probably otherwise wouldn't have gotten. Now gets paid good money instead of having to take a pay-cut. And joins a team that is very good and he is arguably suited to play more for. Good for him.

I liked Bosh and Lebron together, that is the saddest thing about this decision.  Good teammates.

No real sympathy for Wade though, honestly.

Cavs are offering Bennett, Waiters, and first rounder for Love.

I hold no animosity towards Wade. It's become popular to really dump on him in the last couple of years. And I get some of it. But I don't think he's done anything in the wrong that is especially bad. Some shady basketball plays in some cases. Sure. But nothing where I hate him or anything.

It's not animosity on my part, I like Wade just fine, but the last two years, the Heat were Lebron and Bosh's team.  Wade hasn't really done shit since the Thunder Finals.

Will be interesting to see if he signed with the Heat again.  I say Heat go full tank mode and let Wade sign with Chicago or something.

I still don't believe Stauskas can consistently create his own shot/drive in the NBA. He really improved over the years at Michigan, and was really good last season...I just don't buy it.

No shit. Dwade had it pretty good for the past 2-3 seasons. Don't have to barely play during the regular season to "save him for the playoffs." Then doesn't do shit in the playoffs this year.

The best free agency in a while, and the Lakers still fuck it up cause they can't stop sucking Kobe's dick.

Quote
The Houston Rockets have traded guard Jeremy Lin and a future first-round pick to the Los Angeles Lakers, a league source told ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

The Lakers were amenable to this deal, according to sources, because Lin is only under contract for one more season, thus preserving their cap space next summer. They also covet draft picks, after trading away their first-round picks in 2015 and 2017 to Phoenix and Orlando as part of the Steve Nash and Dwight Howard trades, respectively.

To be honest its not that bad. I mean long term. Next season was a lost season anyway unless they got Carmelo. Lin comes off the books in a year. They can hit the free agency market again next year. And they get a 1st round out of it for essentially just giving Rockets some financial freedom. I mean there is nothing they really can do until Kobe is gone. That albatross of a contract guarantees that.

What are they going to use the capspace on next year if KLove gets traded to Cleveland? The biggest FAs are going to be Love, Rondo and Gasol.

Hilarious scenario: Chicago gets Melo. Amnesties Boozer. Boozer signs with Cleveland.

Isaiah Thomas S&T to Phoenix for 4 years 27m in exchange for a D-Leaguer and a trade exception. Terrible value for IT and fair contract for IT. Rather confusing. If the Kings didn't want to be keep Thomas then they should have traded him during the season and got value. This is terrible value for a player like IT.

I wish Bosh the best. And as a Miami fan, I'm glad they will retain Bosh and Wade. I'd be happy to continue rooting for that team. Even more so now because they almost have an underdog sentiment going for them now. It's easier. I won't expect perfection. I'll be happy with competence because that is all I can expect.  I don't think this is the best idea for Bosh when it comes to winning titles as the houston situation was much better for him and he is being insanely overpaid but good on em to make a life choice that will make him the most happy.

Lakers will be a mess for the next couple of years. Nobody in their right mind wants to team up with an ego like Kobe post-peak. The ownership is a mess. And the Clippers are the cooler more relevant team right now.

Has anyone done as much to fuck up what could have been a decent situation as much as Jim Buss over the last few years? Hiring Phil instead of D'Antoni alone would have changed so many things.

Jim Buss has always been fucking worthless, he just got lucky with the Gasol trade.

He learned his job from his GM, fer chrissake. :heh
