If D.J. Augustin can explode like he did for the Bulls last year, then maybe it won't be as bad?

Dunno, he's been a turnover machine so far this season. And missing a whole lot of stuff. His drive-and-kick style worked pretty well for those two-three games when Meeks got hot, but hasn't really been working lately. Hopefully he can step up, but I think the slim playoff chance they had is pretty much buried now

Another impressive win for the Cavs.

And the Heat seem to really have found something in Whiteside.

Cavs are playing fantastic basketball right now.  Defense has improved massively (Kyrie isn't getting any credit for this even though he should).  Lebron is playing at an MVP level again.  Mozgov as an inside presence is crucial.

That said, I think the Cavs still stay under 50 wins.

The Magic are actually kinda fun to watch, like an Anti-Spurs, they have these possessions where like they have no clue what to do, so somebody (usually Payton or Oladipo) just pretends like he has a plan of attack and it works out as the rest of the team reacts and the defense is all "WTF is going on" and someone winds up open. A lineup they ran for like two minutes of Ben Gordon-Oladipo-Fouriner-Harris-Frye caused epic panic because all of them are 38+% three point shooters and yet the offense was that insane nonsense.  :lol

Now, this doesn't work ideally or as imagined a lot but it's fun to see teams panic rotate. And then there's Vucevic sitting under the boards!

I don't even know if Jacque Vaughn attends the games or if they're coaching themselves.  They don't seem to have any sets or defensive scheme.

Plus you can kinda see how they have the makings of a Hawks/Spurs like team where they're just above average at every position and bring in nice bench guys with clear roles who won't shake up the system.

EDIT: Now I remember where I've seen this offense before, the D-League games Versus used to televise with the drunk Eric Musselman commentating! Usually it'd be that inbetween guy who's too good for the D-League but gets called up and DNP's for five games before being sent back down just doing something as everyone else reacts and like half the players don't know each other because they're bailing for Europe and coming back and then getting ten-day contracts and coming back and stuff so they can't actually implement an offense.

Aaron Gordon's come back from injury and he's trying to integrate him offensively...by letting him shoot corner 3s

Cavs seem to have righted themselves. Unless another major injury occurs they seem to be capable of making a credible playoff run. Lebron seems a lot more aggressive now on offense.

They still need to diversify the offense more and find a real way to get Love involved on a consistent basis. They will need him big time in the playoffs for lots of different reasons.

Yup they are looking much better. At this point I believe Love isn't a great fit on the team. This may change over time as everyone becomes use to each other but don't you think a guy like Paul Milsap or Kenneth Faried would have been a much better fit?

Thaddeus Young would have been perfect.

Essentially we are playing a G-G-G-SF-C lineup. Which will win in the regular season but Lebron would have to carry us during the playoffs.

Edit:

Moving along I see that Minnesota currently has the worst record in the league. Could you imagine adding Okafor to play with Wiggins? How good would that team be in 3 years?

Kyrie is pretty much playing by himself out there. The rest of the "offense" is non-existent. I don't honestly think they've even been truly running plays the last quarter. It's all just variations on different iso plays.

He just hit 50.

I'd like to bitch about the stagnant offense but my god all you can really talk about is that game Kyrie had. 55 points. And a stone cold three to win the game. That was the best individual performance outside of that amazing quarter by Klay Thompson this year. Just unreal.

If ever there was a game to make you doubt Kevin Love is worth paying the maximum to it was this game. He scored no points outside of the first quarter. Finished with 10 points on 3 of 15 shooting. He was a statue on defense all game. And worst of all he legit looked nervous to even take shots in the 4th quarter. It was really bad.

Love is actually having a fine year, just not..."first option" fine.  I think he should stick around after this season to see what he can do with this team.

Cavs look fucking fantastic right now.  Kyrie is playing like an ASG starter.  He shouldn't be, Wall deserves it.  But Kyrie will most likely win MVP of the game, again.

From the games I've seen they just aren't playing Love in the same spots he used to with the Wolves. Primarily because they're the same spots LeBron uses. And he kinda like stops doing anything when he's not part of the offense and can't figure out what he should be doing instead other than rebound.

meh

Career low FG% on a team where he is the third option and he has shitloads of wide open shots. Only shooting 33% from 3 point range. Wretched defense.

Which is not to say he shouldn't be integrated into the offense more. But currently he's not stroking the ball well at all which doesn't help.

The event returns to a more traditional format, ditching last year's team competition. The first round will allow each competitor to complete two dunks, getting three attempts at each dunk. Five judges will score the dunks, with the top two scorers going on to the final round and getting two more dunks in the same format.

Fan voting, which has played a role in deciding the victory since 2008, no longer will be part of the process.

A few things to note before hitting the selections in full:

Kobe Bryant's season-ending surgery on a torn rotator cuff opens up a starting spot in the West, which means Damian Lillard, DeMarcus Cousins and Mike Conley still have a shot.
LaMarcus Aldridge is fighting through a torn ligament in his left thumb. If he ends up sitting out, we could see yet another replacement in the West.
The same goes for Dwyane Wade and his bad right hamstring.
Commissioner Adam Silver will select any injury replacements.

Since we had mentioned him:
Quote
The Orlando Magic are on the verge of firing head coach Jacque Vaughn, according to league sources.

After the Magic lost their seventh straight game Thursday night to fall to 15-34, one source close to the situation said the team's management has decided it will relieve Vaughn of his duties. The only question, according to the source, was how soon.

One source said Vaughn will not be fired Friday and that he will likely coach at least the Magic's next three games against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday and the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday.

After those three games, all probable losses, the Magic's schedule lightens considerably, with four of their next six opponents being non-playoff teams. That's a much more favorable situation in which to bring a new coach.

Vaughn said Friday morning before practice that talk about his tenuous job security has put him in a "day by day" mindset and that he is blocking everything out, like the boos he heard after Thursday's loss.

"Day by day," Vaughn told reporters in Orlando when asked about his approach to the remainder of the season. "That's what I do, I've always done. I do my job the best I can that day. I went home, I watched film -- nothing changed. I got up this morning, met with my group, ready for practice and ready for a game." He added, "I don't abide by the tyranny of other people's attitudes and moods. I'm ready to rock and roll."
