Piss off Pec? Not a good idea, rook.
Huh? What did Wiggins do?

He kept sitting on the wing and not cutting during the game. Pek was trying to tell him to move his ass.

Hear comes that trade deadline

Mo Williams to charlotte for Gary Neal, garbage J Jr, and a 2nd

Adreian Payne to Minnesota for a future first.

I think Payne might have a chance to shine for the wolves....he's an andre drummond type player with more speed. Could be an interesting pick up in my opinion.

ESPN says 6'10 245 but I'm going go ahead and say the old Spartan is more like 6'8 260

http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/12307956/magic-johnson-rips-jim-buss-says-kobe-bryant-put-foot-down

You know I love Magic and everything but this blaming Jim Buss for everything that is going wrong with the Lakers is a bit much. You have a team that has an old over the hill superstar who you over-paid to keep to please the fanbase and people like Magic.

You brought in Byron Scott to please the fanbase and Magic who I would argue isn't the greatest coach in the nba.

So of course nobody wants to play with him free agent wise. Then your first round pick breaks his leg. I mean what have people expected out of these last few seasons. It's not like the Lakers are under-performing relative to the talent on their roster.

They took a shot a few years ago with Chris Paul. It was over-ruled. They took a shot with Dwight and Nash. It didn't work out. They've done about everything they could once you factor kobe on the team with a massive contract and until he and that contract are gone you can't do anything and you might as well be as terrible as possible.

Also I love the idea that Kobe should theaten to retire unless they do something. Fucking hilarious.

It's totally correct. If Buss didn't felate Kobe's useless ass on the regular they'd be 3/4's of the way through a rebuild by now.

Fellating Kobe is what the fanbase wants (and presumably Magic) since all discussion about the future of the Lakers ended for the foreseeable future when they signed Kobe to that contract. The problem is the grip Kobe has on the franchise period. And Magic's advice is listen to Kobe more. It makes no sense.

It's fine to criticize the owner. But their criticisms are completely unrelated to the situation at hand once you factor in Kobe. The original sin is resigning Kobe for that contract. Everything after that is just dominoes falling.

Speaking of hindsight it look like the Thunder are forever going to be famous for giving up the potential MVP of this season.

Harden is my MVP this season.  Unreal.

He's definitely up there.

It's definitely Harden, James, and Curry with James tailing at the break.

However the MVP of the last month is either Whiteside or Gordon's white ass. Both are balling over their heads.

I don't know if its the talent making him look good or he was always this pretty decent player (I never watched Denver) but god damn Mozgov impresses me every time I watch them. I originally thought those two round first picks they gave up for him were ridiculous but it just goes to show how much I know.

Seems like 'the book' on Whiteside is going to be to apply early offensive pressure on him and get him in foul trouble. Dude hasn't learned how to defend smart. He wants all the blocks.

Yeah I was gonna post the same. They don't look good tonight but it is a back to back and its going into the all star break.

Lebron is having one of those nights where he looks low energy and is being careless with the ball.

Particularly Lebron.  He has looked terrible tonight.  Chucking outside bricks, careless turnovers.  Without Love as an outside threat, the Bulls are able to swarm Lebron when he comes into the paint and swat at the ball, or back off him on the perimeter  and hope he bricks.  Both are happening right now.

I thought it was just a new team and new situation but it really kind of feels like the first real signs of Lebron declining. He just can't bring it the same every night. I mean he can if he's rested or highly motivated but on nights like this sometimes it just isn't there. And the passes get a little lazy. The defense slacks, and he settles for a lot of jumpers. I thought it was just effort earlier in the season but I think its a larger issue of age.

Which is not to over-dramatize. He is still potentially the best player in the world if not top 2 or 3 depending on how on Davis or Durant are.

Saw Barkley's comments on stats. Amusingly "advanced stats" LOVE Barkley. 7th All-Time in ORtg, 11th All-Time in PER, 9th All-Time in Win Shares Per 48 Minutes, 3rd All-Time in Box Score Plus/Minus, 7th All-Time in TS%. 10th All-Time in OWS and 12th in WS despite a comparatively short career.

Fixed.

That's what happens when you get older. But honestly he's no different than he's always been. I've never watched inside the NBA because its a "serious" take on basketball. You watch it because its like going to the barbershop. You hear occasionally interesting stuff. An occasionally sharp insight. But mostly a lot of bullshit.

You don't have to have played in the NBA to have an opinion on something. Not everything that drops from the mouth of a former player is a pearl of wisdom.

You could also flip that argument around around and say what does Charles know about team management or coaching since he's never done either.

(And isn't likely to be hired to do either anytime soon)

I'm going to guess a guy who spends his life as a carpenter knows more about building a house than you do despite not being involved in all facets of the trade. Do you disagree?

Same point...the man has seen more front offices than you have. Give him some respect.

I'll always give you your opinion...but casting aspersions on character because of what he says when you know his job is to wild up the crowd is silly.

There are plenty of former players who are gm's or coaches who use analytics as a tool along with other tools. The difference is that theIR opinion is balanced and not extreme like Charles plus they actually do the job that charles doesn't. Charles job is commentating on basketball and making it entertaining. He is often wrong. Wrong about which team is going to win the title. Wrong about his analysis on why a team is or isn't going to win. Wrong about certain player evaluations where he will say one thing and then 12 months down the road reverse course without ever admitting he was wrong in the first place. Which is fine. His job is being an entertainer when it comes to a basketball show. Not evaluating talent and running a team for which he would be held accountable.

I like Charles. He is probably an amazingly fun person to hang around. He also was a phenomenal player. And he is a great entertainer on Inside the NBA. But his blanket dismissal of analytics is dumb. And is proven wrong each and every day by the way the NBA does its business.
