Cav's entire team is on a different level right now. This may be the best team Lebron has ever had, Miami included.

It's going to be fun to watch them in the playoffs.

I Love the fact that Love is starting to get the ball on the block now. His passing skills are fantastic.

Hmmmm, in the last 30 games they are Top 5 in the league.

So good, in fact, they are now well above the league average for the SEASON

Kerr is a hell of a coach man.

I love Mark Jackson trying to get shots in every time he calls a GS game, one of the more funny yet cringe worthy moments of the season.

I can't see that link while at work, but defensive efficiency they are still in the bottom 1/3 of the league for the season. Their def rebounding is pretty dreadful too.

http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/teamstats/_/sort/defensiveEff/order/false

I'm not a big stat head, but all of those Miami teams seemed to have great defense and many of those later Cavs teams did also.

Here's my problem with that, the media (and fans) kill these athletes for being uninteresting, quiet and politically correct. Then when a dude actually speaks his mind we call him foolish or loud-mouthed. It's a pretty unfair double standard.

I'd rather have a sports world where everyone speaks their mind, rather than toe the line.

Yep, they've been pretty shaky since the trade deadline, Reggie has taken some time to get up to speed and they've had pretty much zero contribution from their SF:s (although Caron has been putting up numbers in the latest few games). Also Jodie Meeks forgot how to shoot. And hack-a-Dre is in full effect in pretty much every game now.

Fun article half-history/half-speculation about John Calipari's stint with the Nets and any future NBA jobs: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/tournament/2015/story/_/id/12553957/why-kentucky-wildcats-coach-john-calipari-failed-nba-why-happen-again-leaves-go-back-ncaa-tournament

Also Jayson Williams wants to kill him.

Quote
Seven men owned the Nets, often with seven different ideas on whether to sell the franchise, and Calipari's presence only added to the instability. He was a coach who thrived on chaos, on creating enemies inside and outside the organization. Calipari actually never signed his five-year Nets contract -- he only signed an employment agreement and forever haggled over second-tier details that weren't ironed out -- and that drove some executives mad.
:dead

ayo what happened to the Pistons? Stopped paying attention and now they're far away from the 8th seed.
Jennings injury took the wind out of their sails and they don't have anybody else who can run the point and shoot.

Reggie Jackson gives back as many points as he gets on the offensive end. I don't think Monroe and Drummond care much for him either. On the plus side Tayshaun is contributing 6.5 points per game!

Uh, Miami was terrible at defense.

And screw hollingers bullshit stats. There are only 3 that matter  Points for/Points against/Wins

"Dennis Rodman, of all people, once came over to Cal and said, 'Hey, you need to calm down and just let 'em play,'" recalled Kendall Gill, one of the stars of Calipari's 1997 playoff team. "If hearing that from Dennis Rodman isn't a message, I don't know what is."

getting hot at the right time. Reminds me of the Spurs last year. Not saying we'll win it all, just that we are peaking at the right time.

Alonzo's reaction :rofl

btw the Coli thread on this brought up some other sports urban legend quotes including this gem:

When Rickey Henderson was playing in Seattle, he approached John Olerud at the batting cage and asked him why he always wore that silly helmet. Olerud, slightly confused, explained that he had an aneurysm when he was nine years old and that he wore the helmet for protection.

Henderson: “Man, I played with a guy like that in Toronto. That’s crazy!”

Olerud: “Yeah, Ricky. That was me.”

Rickey amazes me. Google his investments...he did very well.

"Rickey too fast for his shoes"

Met him a couple of times hearing "Rickey is Rickey man" when asked what he was like the first time. I was like okay man you know he's just playing a role. Nah.

We are hanging out at this rich girls house and rickey was chilling by the pool and before he even shook my hand he said "jesus walked on water but rickey can run on that shit man."

Funny guy though, I'm still convinced it's 40% act man.

Kevin Durant will have bone graft surgery on his ailing right foot and miss the remainder of the season, Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti announced Friday.

Durant will have the procedure early next week and is expected to return to basketball activities in the next four to six months.

The news comes a week after Presti announced that Durant been "removed from basketball activities" and insinuated he could be shut down.
