This why I wanted the Pacers in instead of the Nets.

Earlier this season, now-former Nuggets Coach Brian Shaw said that he tried motivating his lackadaisical roster that seemed to quit on him repeatedly by rapping a pre-game scouting instruction. On Saturday, Nuggets guard Ty Lawson posted a snippet of the rap on his Instagram.

I love the Spurs but I'm actively rooting for the Clippers. I think it would be fun to see Blake and CP3 get deeper into the playoffs.

Pelicans have been fun to watch.  They're not a push over for these Warriors, which I like.  Great experience for AD.

Indeed. They are a couple of pieces away from contending. They could really use an athletic 3 and a dominant rebounding center.

Agreed. I thought these games would be complete blowouts, but Pelicans have managed to keep it close at least until the 4th quarter.

They way Cleveland struggles to cover isiah thomas and Boston at times is a bit disconcerting when you think of an offensive team like the Warriors.

Ollie should leave. I can't see him replicating that shocking championship run again. Granted Conn always gets good players eventually but still...

And didn't Ollie just get divorced? Might as well take the bigger paycheck bro.

The Dallas Mavericks are ruling out Rajon Rondo indefinitely, citing a back injury Rondo sustained Tuesday night at Houston, the team said Wednesday.

When asked Wednesday if he expects Rondo, who is a free agent this summer, to be in a Mavericks uniform next season, coach Rick Carlisle replied: "No, I don't."

Two notes.

Blake is destroying the Spurs.

Reggie Miller has ratcheted up how annoying he is which is quite impressive when you think about it.

Turned on the game, heard Reggie talking about how Spiller should take 30 seconds at the FT line to catch his breath, and explaining all the ways he could get away with it.

I mean those tips like that are very difficult in those situations but you just knew Barnes wasn't going to be able to get that. I mean great defense but you are really playing 4 on 5 with him on the court on the offensive end.

GOODYEAR, Ariz. — Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner and her fiancee, fellow WNBA player Glory Johnson, were arrested on suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct after an argument in the home they recently purchased together became physical.

The two 24-year-olds were each arrested Wednesday on counts of assault by recklessly causing physical injuries and disorderly conduct for fighting. They were booked into the Maricopa County Jail in downtown Phoenix and later released.

Agents for the players did not immediately respond to requests for comment Thursday.

Griner told police that she and Johnson had been arguing every day and got into each other's faces Wednesday afternoon in the home they had bought two days earlier after Johnson said Griner "disrespected" her, according to a police report.

...

Griner also said she broke a dog bowl after throwing it against a wall during the argument.

Griner told police the fight was caused be weeks of stress, including buying a house, planning a wedding and their relationship. The pair announced their engagement late last summer and expected to get married next month.

they're a bunch of spare parts. outside of Crowder, IT, and maybe Bradley I don't think anyone on that roster is safe

I do think Brad Stevens has a bright future at the NBA level though

I do think Brad Stevens has a bright future at the NBA level though
He's not afraid to break his rotation and adjust to a new situation specific one. Something his lack of "stars" has allowed him to do to be fair. Most NBA coaches will ride their rotation until it breaks and then ride it harder for some insane reason. Rick Carlisle had to learn to not do this over the years.

The opposite being when Don Nelson beat the Mavericks in the first round it was because he freaked out Avery Johnson so much before hand that Johnson broke his rotation out of fear instead of using the normal one on the court to start and THEN adjusting. (Something Spolestra had to learn too, playing Joel Anthony and other garbage like Jamaal Magloire for half the game or more because he was convinced he needed a "real" center on the floor. Then suddenly realizing he could just play Haslem or Bosh there and they stopped losing until the 2011 Finals.)

Quote
Stevens was impressed with his players' energy and spirit but said they lacked poise.

After the game, he repeated to his players a statement he once heard: "`When considering the consequences of not doing the little things, you realize there are no little things.' That applies to us right now."
