I don't think they'd be super concerned with the Warriors...they're this year's "hot" team, much like how the Thunder came to be after their first good series against the Lakers.  Plus they have the MVP, they're able to bank on viewership on that alone.

But yeah, Atlanta would be rough.

Kind of nervous for my Hawks tonight. We haven't advanced this far in a very long time. The fact that we're carrying the weight of basketball's long term integrity doesn't help. I hope our boys aren't feeling that pressure too much.

You ever read what you type? Lol you dumb

That LeBron dunk that sealed the game, no one on the Hawks even tried to defend it. They barely seemed to be paying attention. Straight trash.

Being a fan of this garbage franchise has always been tough, but it's worse when they get your hopes up for the first time in years.

IIRC voters get to fill out their three teams and don't get to vote for any runner-up places beyond what's awarded (unlike the MVP vote for instance).  Middleton had a good year, but realistically who could you put him ahead of?

And forget Noah, who voted for Melo???

Same as first game. Rockets played well (except Josh smith). Harden played well.

At no actual point did it feel like the Rockets actually were going to win.

Probably one of the all time great single season teams are these warriors. They are just perfect. Only the Spurs might have given them some problems. What a series that would have been.

It was a little funny to hear Jackson say earlier in the game that the second unit for the Warriors had no weaknesses.  :P

Honestly, this feels like the weakest NBA in quite some time. Aside from the Warriors, I don't see a single team that wouldn't get taken out in 4 or 5 by any middleweight playoff team from the 90s, or also-ran 00s teams like the Nash Phoenix Suns. The 04 Pistons would 4-4-4 the Eastern Conference en route to the Finals.

A lot of the best players are aging out of elite status, and for whatever reason, recent draft classes have not produced the same caliber of elite players, aside from Anthony Davis.

I was just thinking that...I mean you know it's bad when a bunch of 35 year old players are still major impact players. The East especially is quite atrocious, but let's not also forget that many teams are so injury plagued.

Oh no Al Hortford is a bigger deal for them.  Cavs should probably sit Kyrie for the rest of the series then. He's gonna need fresh legs to guard any of the Warriors backcourt anyway.

Now that it looks like the Cavs will clearly win the series, it's probably time to give them their props for the season. Very good season after a really shitty start. Really impressive performance in the playoffs considering this is supposed to be a big three team and it will honestly really only have 1 of those guys for the entire playoffs. It's a testament to Lebron. This team quality wise isn't much better than those old Cavs team with Lebron if you remove kyrie and love from the picture.

They are going to get dusted by the Warriors but good on them for at least getting there. Would have been interesting if Love had been able to play though.

I agree. It's nearly impossible to hate on Lebron's game when he went back to Cleveland and carried them back once again by himself. It's almost storybook, as their team is probably on par with the squad that got dusted by the Spurs in 2007.

LeBron title runs always include a dude who can't miss from 3. JR Smith is doing that this year. I'm guessing this is probably a LeBron title run  :goty2

You know. That's a hell of a point.

I mean realistically take Lebron and curry off these teams and they still mop the floor with us. But the Lebron effect is larger than life and he has everybody buying in. We'll except one because if we get a title without Love he is going to be devalued.
YMMV
