Yeah, I'd expect the Cavs to still run the East with Harden swapped in for LeBron.

You're nuts.

Only other guy who might be able to carry these cavs to the finals would be a healthy Durant.
YMMV

Should be interesting game. Although until I posted that ratings blurb, I forgot that last year's Spurs series was also close the first two games, and then the spurs turned it on. Nobody remembers that after the decimation they gave the heat.

Yeah, if LeBron doesn't cramp up that one game, the Heat could've been up 2-0.  The OKC series had some wild swings too, where the Thunder looked good with Ibaka in the lineup before the Spurs just found another gear.

So weird to watch Lebron be so aggressive on offense. It's so different from his normal playstyle.

Was just about to make a post about them being fucked if James Jones has to play any real minutes and he just got a 4 point play. I still stand by it though.

I guess I should've asked this years ago, but why does it seem like all American sports rely on switching players in and out throughout the game?

For instance, why wouldn't basketball work with a rule similar to soccer with a limited number of substitutions? Too many games, too much speed, whatever?

I think American sports fan value specialization and perceived quality over utility and continuous flow in their sports. Despite the occasional carping, the breaks and the commercials are something that don't overly bother us.

Kerr trying to bring David Lee out of his bag of tracks. Warriors just incredibly cold. Part of it is the defense but part of it is they are just being forced to have people like Draymond Green shot the open three's instead of Klay and Steph.

I mean the Warriors should be happy to be down almost nothing here. They have played god damn awful. It feels like the Cavs should be up 15 but its anybody's game at half.

Well, then, maybe you should make your sports more boring. The European Way!

Dellagoona deserves credit. Loving how he's denying the ball.

Why doesn't Marion get minutes? Seems like he could be effective.

Overall the game is being played at the Cavs' pace and on their terms. Despite LeBron missing a multitude of easy baskets.

Basketball could be done that way and soccer could be done with unlimited substitutions, it would just change the way the game is played.  You'd see soccer players doing full-out sprints more, and basketball teams running simpler offenses and sagging off on defense.

It's probably not a coincidence that baseball, the oldest of the big North American sports, is the one which doesn't allow players to re-enter a game.

I don't think I've ever watched a sporting event where I get a significant sample size of play and still don't believe what I am seeing.

Cavs defense on Curry is so good.  Off the ball, he's not getting open running around screens.  On the ball, they're doubling and trapping him and even though he's a good enough passer to find the open man out of it, his teammates aren't making them pay.  Cavs have to feel great any time Draymond or Barnes takes a shot.

Take James Jones out of the game. He doesn't know what he is doing on defense. He has no clue. All he can do is shoot. I don't understand why Blatt can't see that. Anybody is better.

Lebron needs to go earlier in the clock. All that waiting is just letting them settle in. And he has to drive or post. Waiting for them to be baited on his bad jumper ain't gonna work.

I get it happening occasionally due to the nature of their offense being so Lebron-centric and everything being on him. I just don't understand why blatt occasionally doesn't help and actually call something other than the basic set. But it is what it is.

Dellavedova experienced "severe cramping," per the Cavs, and required an IV after putting up 20 points in 39 minutes. He was able to walk under his own power to the parking garage at Quicken Loans Arena, where he was placed on a stretcher and taken by ambulance to the Cleveland Clinic. He was admitted to receive additional treatment.

The Cavaliers said they would provide an update on his status Wednesday.
