My Knicks are hustling again. :rejoice

Spurs got the win, but they're always one of the best and they had to work for it. All of our offseason additions are looking like good choices so far, except for Vujacic.

Absolutely I was happy when we signed him. He can still play and now that he's bit older he's gotten away from the covered 19 foot hero jumpers he use to shoot.

I wish the Clippers had traded Jamal Crawford.

I mean they're 4-0 but I think Crawford is gonna be an issue at some point.

It's only 5 games but...

Derrick Rose is averaging 12 points a game. Shooting 35%. And has a per of 7.80

They've been smashed with injuries (Poindexter, Asik, Evans...ten separate players have started a game!) and the offense is clueless so they're just jacking up contested shots.

Also, their defense is a mess. If they bring in defenders like Perkins to take the load off Davis, that's a gaping hole in the offense. But if they bring in more offense they're basically all sieves. Or they're sieves who are shooting terrible like Babbit and Cunningham.

They were at their best at the end of last year when Evans basically became their point guard and he's out for the rest of the month. They wanted to do that again but with Holiday as a secondary point guard but mainly letting him focus more on scoring than doing both duties. Ish Smith is running their offense at least half the game and he's got a career ORtg of 92.

Asik should be back soon but he doesn't help the offense much.

Davis is trying a bit hard to show his new range too, he gets in that later career Barkley/Bosh mode where he hits just enough of them to start drifting outside and jacking them up. So then he doesn't get to the line or kill guys inside, etc. And they don't have someone like Evans slashing to the basket to take advantage of the new space as they're mostly all jump shooters.

Toney Douglas has had two decent games which might help though.

Rondo was in the final year of a five-year, $55 million contract with the Boston Celtics when last season began. He was the last player remaining from Boston's 2008 NBA championship team and appeared receptive to a contract extension. But after Rondo turned down a five-year extension estimated to pay close to $70 million in hopes of landing a maximum contract later

In other news Warriors versus Clippers tonight. Both playing very well and undefeated. Should be a great game.

Mo looking good. I always felt sorry for him in the sense that I think he was just put in the wrong situation. He was just asked to do too much in those early days with Cleveland. He shouldn't be your 2nd best player on the team. But when he just has to be a really good role player, he's more than qualified for that.

Yeah I mean this feeling happens with most champions for good reasons but the Warriors just kind of feel inevitable. It's like they are just built perfectly for the current era of basketball. The weaknesses they have over the long course of a game just don't matter. And when they clamp down and start playing defense with that small ball line-up in the 4th it does feel unfair. They can do everything.

I got a kick out of watching Luke Walton on the sidelines doing his 'coaching moves". The pacing back and forth and pointing. The one hand on the hip, pulling back the suit jacket move. The double, open-handed "WTF?!" move.  It was like watching an actor practice for his big role.

Lakers are second in the league in three point attempts as a percentage of their shots.

Kobe, Lou Williams and Ryan Kelly (?) are taking 15.2 three pointers a game.

They're shooting a collective 19% on them.

Not so much for Kobe's shit talking with Spike Lee, but for this part

Quote
This is great. Irascible Kobe talking shit about Knicks’ imaginary offensive scheme is exactly what he should be doing at his age. Once he retires, Kobe should start a second career as the meanest color commentator in the league. “Here’s the thing most people don’t know about Anthony Davis, Kevin. He’s a pile of shit and a fucking soft-ass punk who was always afraid of me.”

It's the highest pick the Lakers have had since Big Game James. A lot of Laker fans can't remember something like this. You don't draft a point guard at #2 unless it's Magic Johnson or Jim fucking Buss is running your roster.
