Throw Kyrie Irving in there.  Don't think the Cavs are kicking themselves for having missed out on Derick Williams or Enes Kanter.

I won't quibble about individual players, but I did think I'd covered my ass when I listed a great point guard or having an idiot who happened to be a family member of the owner as your personnel guy. :doge

I know a guy who's a diehard Lakers and Duke basketball fan*.  The Lakers taking Russell was great, cause now I can taunt him whether Okafor is a bust (another failed Dukie!) or a star (you could have had him if the Busses didn't fuck up again!).

spoiler (click to show/hide)
He also roots for Notre Dame football and the Yankees.  I swear I am not making this up.

Brandon Knight isn't bad, if you don't look at the turnovers. out of those first 10 picks, he's probably T-3 with Kanter as of 2015

it's really just those first 10 that were horrible, you still have Kawhi, Klay, IT, Butler, Vooch, Faried, Parsons, Harris; all those dudes are good pieces

:yeshrug I like Stokes, I wish he'd get more playing time, probably won't though. Net bonus for Miami for dumping Chalmers off elsewhere, going all in on Tyler Johnson (who?) as their backup pg.

Durant left the game in the second quarter today with a left hamstring injury, Based God's curse confirmed in effect

Utah was kind of impressive last night. Played with a lot of tempo and shot from outside pretty well. Their big glaring hole is not having someone that can carry them in crunch time.

Vegas has them at 40.5 wins, but they seem slightly better than that.

http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2015/11/lebron_james_cavaliers_2.html#incart_related_stories

I watched that Bucks game and it was very annoying. The offense still doesn't work properly. It's all Lebron-ball.  (not blaming him, it's the only thing that works) Love's scoring is up but his percentages are crap and its almost all long distance stuff. I don't understand why they can't just post him up and throw the ball in or run more pick and roll plays with him sometimes to diversify his offensive role. He basically disappeared in the 4th and OT.

It's not that specific thing that bothers me. I mean he should be on the perimeter a lot to stretch defenses. My issue is on nights when its clearly not working or his shot isn't going from the outside, they very rarely mix things up. At that point why not post him up. Or do different things to get him going. But instead its like they keep doing the same thing and expecting different results. They are good enough where it doesn't matter most of the time, but when you watch some of the less talented teams play more "correctly" like in that Bucks game,  its definitely annoying.

He was actually doing well that night from the outside and he had a good game up until the 4th quarter. But then the Bucks started playing him a lot better and the Cavs didn't have an answer for it so he became a non-factor.

They've got the third highest points per possession in the entire league, without Kyrie Irving having played a minute.  Not a team that needs to be hitting the panic button.

One thing I'll say is that Lebron is off to a much better start than last year. He's way more engaged than he was at the beginning of last year. The free throw shooting and 3 point shooting is off but he's playing a lot more post than I've ever seen him play so early in the season. It's like those finals rubbed off on him.

Amusing little piece:
http://lamarmatic.com/2015/11/16/hendo-tries-to-ruin-hornets-short-play-in-return/
Quote
Hornets used to run "Short" for Gerald Henderson alley-oops. After him being traded, Lamb has been the recipient of it. Last night Hendo returned to CHA for first time, saw the play within 4 secs and tried to disrupt it.
Quote
The guard then checked in the game with :06.9 left in the first quarter to a warm reception and ironically within 4 seconds of playing time faced the out-of-bounds play, which once was his specifically designed for him and was his meal ticket for a cool NBA highlight.

Hendo, just like McRoberts earlier in the pre-season, instantly knew what was bound to happen and the broadcast even caught him depicting the play for his younger team-mates:

Man if social media were available in the Jordan years they would have roasted him. Dudes are gonna get at people in practice. This ain't high school man, these are grown ass men paying grown ass bills. Don't think about a fight, expect it.

This goes double if you're a starter.

For example Peyton Manning seems like a great guy but I promise you his prime he was a dictator in that locker room. You best to group think or hope your ass is talented enough to catch on somebody else's squad.

Done I think is harsh. Kobe is done. They are currently 8-4 and using him pretty much perfectly and they were a team that wasn't expected to do much at all this year. Now I don't think they will maintain that pace but still impressive to me. I also think Carlisle is just an awesome coach.

HANG TIME NEW JERSEY — We knew the Golden State Warriors were going to get back into the game Thursday night. It was just a matter of whether or not the Los Angeles Clippers, a pretty good team in their own right, could hold on after leading by as many as 23 points in the second quarter.
But Luke Walton went to his trump card a little earlier than usual and the Clippers were toast.
The trump card is a lineup of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, Harrison Barnes and Draymond Green. With five shooters on the floor, the Warriors spread you out and slice you up offensively. And they use their length and quickness to switch everything and not give up much on the other end of the floor.
The Warriors typically don’t use the super-small lineup early in games. Of the 48 minutes its played this season, only 16 have come before the fourth quarter. It’s kind of like Mariano Rivera, if Mariano Rivera was not only a lights-out closer, but also a .750 hitter who gets to bat in every spot of the order.
With 5:41 left to go in Thursday’s game, Barnes checked in for Festus Ezeli and the lineup was in place. The Clippers were still up by 10 points at that point.
But on the super-small lineup’s first possession, Curry hit a three. Paul Pierce answered, but the Clippers couldn’t keep up with the Warriors when they proceeded to make six of their next seven shots, with five of the six coming from 3-point range.

The super-small lineup outscored the Clippers 25-8 in that final 5:41 to keep the Warriors unbeaten and the Clippers on the wrong side of a one-sided rivalry.
Here’s the boxscore from the final 5:41. The Warriors shot 2-for-2 on twos, 5-for-6 on threes, and 6-for-6 on free throws. They recorded assists on all seven of their buckets.
That’s ridiculous, but it’s not too far off from the norm. That lineup has played 48 total minutes this season and has outscored its opponents 164-104 in those 48 minutes, shooting 23-for-38 (61 percent) from 3-point range, with assists on 73 percent of its field goals.
164-104!
The Warriors are the best team in the league, by far. And the lineup of Curry, Thompson, Iguodala, Barnes and Green is the best the Warriors have to offer.
Walton is going to the lineup more often than Steve Kerr did. It only played 102 minutes in 37 games in the regular season last year. But Kerr did go to it a lot more frequently in the playoffs, when it logged 111 minutes over 16 of the Warriors’ 21 postseason games.
The lineup has been ridiculously successful no matter who the coach has been. It’s the Warriors’ trump card and it’s near impossible to stop.

Also, Sacramento's starting lineup today was the best thing ever:
Collison (5-11) / Rondo (6-1) / McLemore (6-4) / Cousins (6-11) / Cauley-Stein (7-0).

Cousins was a monster 29pts 12rebs 6asts 3stls 3blks. 13/15 from the line.
