Nice win for the celts. They showed some of those defensive liabilities the cavs have.

Cav imploding.  You can tell how bad it is by how far Lue's mouth is hanging open.

LeBron finally decided to get aggressive and drive towards the basket but now he has 4 fouls and it isn't even halftime :doge

Is LeBron deliberately trying to foul out or something?

Or is this one of those things Jordan and Bird used to do where he's gonna pick up five fouls and then play the rest of the game because it's boring without an extra challenge.

Two sub par playoff games in a row for Lebron. You have to go back to that mavs series for the last time that happened. Kyrie is killing it though.

On reflection sub-par isn't actually a good descriptor. He is playing well especially in the second half. That first half was just kind of garbage.

It sure looks like he was just trying to coast and avoid wear and tear in game 3 and he started off this game the same way. He was avoiding the paint like the plague.

He's at 32 pts now tho.

Good effort from the Celtics. They had a shot at it which is about the best you could hope for in this situation. They might steal another at home although unless something bizarre happens the series is over.

This series does point up the issues they will have with the warriors though. If playing D's against the 3 onslaught of the motion offense celtics is a problem, the warriors will be a nightmare.

As expected. On the finals.

I thought the Cavs had no chance last year and they won. So who am I to say anything...

But if I'm going to say something, I think they even have less of a chance this year. It would be an even bigger upset imo because the Warriors play pretty much perfect modern basketball with one of the most talented lineups in the history of the game.

Good Luck Cavs. Hopefully its an entertaining finals because both teams pretty much destroyed everybody else on the way here.

Hm, yeah.  I think the Cavs are a better team this year, but the Warriors are just...you can't defend them.  Who fucking guards Durant in the Finals?  Kyrie will be on Klay, Lebron on Green, JR on Steph...who guards Durant?  Love?  lol.

Yeah that's the problem and even if it isn't Durant who is going to kill them (and he will) the problem is even when you adjust you are leaving some other killer to do it.

As good as that team was last year there was a gameplan. Make people like Harrison Barnes have to make big contributions. Easier said than done of course but you could at least envision it.

There is no Harrison Barnes this year. It's all a murder's row.

I will say – GS's depth isn't as good this year.  If Cleveland's bench can contribute consistently, it will be a good series.

Jack Remington time to shine

I thought the Cavs had a chance last year, since tbh I felt like they could have beaten the Warriors in their first finals matchup if not for Kyrie and Love being out. But this time nah. Even thought I'm sure KG and Curry will shit the bed a couple times.

Otherwise, Warriors in 6 - barring any injuries or nut shenanigans.

James Jones is LeBron's favorite and most trusted player, that's why he shows up on the bench wherever LeBron travels and will randomly be in the game at crunch time despite not having played prior in the series or season.

One running subplot of the "old timey" dudes on the Cavs I enjoy is how Richard Jefferson basically copied off Popp's cheat sheet and then started ripping off Battier to keep things going career-wise. :rollsafe

This summer Kobe, LeBron, Duncan and Gandalf board an elven ship to cross the Great Sea and join their fellow Maiar and Hall of Famers in the Undying Lands.

ESPN is pushing this story so hard:
Quote
All-Star point guard Chris Paul intends to give the San Antonio Spurs serious consideration in free agency this summer in the event he decides to leave the LA Clippers, according to league sources.

Sources told ESPN that Paul, for all of his undeniable fondness for Los Angeles, is intrigued by the idea of teaming up with the likes of Spurs coach Gregg Popovich and MVP top-three finalist Kawhi Leonard in his quest to achieve the deep playoff success that has eluded Paul to this point in his career.
Quote
The Spurs, sources say, are increasingly considered a lock to at least secure a face-to-face meeting with Paul when free agency begins July 1, despite the fact San Antonio would almost certainly have to sacrifice considerable roster depth to make him a representative contract offer.

As daunting as some of the moves are that San Antonio would have to consider to create the requisite salary-cap space to aggressively pursue Paul, one source said of the Spurs' interest in the veteran floor leader: "They love him."

lebron's free throw shooting is driving me nuts.  He's #1 in attempts in the playoffs and still only hitting around 70%.  He was ar 67% during the season.  That's costing them wins.  You can't be the GOAT if you're not hitting your free throws.

GOD the Cavs' bench sucks.  Chumpert go back to riding your wife's fame.

I just want the Cavs to win 1 so there is SOME drama in these playoffs. Even if it will be short-lived.

Plus, it will be embarrassing to get swept. Even though they are superior team, you still can't get swept.

I'm not sure about that. GS got embarrassed last year and Lebron rubbed it in in the off season. GS wants to humiliate the Cavs this time and they already have a foot on their neck.

Game 1 felt like a bit of a fluke with all of the Cavs turnovers and TT completely disappearing. If you a Cavs fan, game 2 was a lot more worrying. LeBron played well, they got Love involved and still got blown out. Plus Klay Thompson woke up. Durant and Curry are both playing like MVPs (lol at picking Finals MVP if the Warriors win the series).

Momentum eventually flipped and betrayed both the Durant with the Thunder in the Western Conference Finals and Curry with the Warriors in the Finals last year so I'm holding on hope until Wednesday night. Cavs bench should play and shoot better at home.

It's gonna be hilarious when he bolts, Blake gets hurt next year and DeAndre gets his wish of being the focal point of a team.

Their insistence on holding on to Jamal Crawford and not finding a better roster fit at SF really hurt the Clippers.

Cavs can't sustain this pace vs GSW.  They'll gas out first.

I don't get why JR wrapped up Steph for that free foul.  Just give him the basket, it's better than risking foul trouble.

I mean it was obvious coming into the series. Unless the Warriors suffer a major injury its hard to not see them winning title after title. The addition of Durant just broke the league essentially.

Not that there is anything wrong with that. Miami did it for a few years themselves with Lebron.

My "inner old school crank" is glad the Cavs won't win the title given how badly their defense has been all season. Just wouldn't feel right to see them rewarded despite being historically bad (for a Finals team).
