Since we're doing hot takes...

The Bron era is over. Unless Durant loses a knee it's safe to say Bron won't win another title.

I'd agree with that

This makes more sense than any draft swap trades that I've heard. Philly wants a PG and Boston gets a wider selection of assets to offer for a star.

"Jerry West's move to the Clippers is another dagger for the Lakers"

Painful to read.  The way the Lakers front office blew West off is not a good look... at all.  I don't have much faith in Magic or Pelinka, to say the least.  This dude's got a statue in front of Staples and the NBA logo is literally his silhouette.  The players respect the hell out of him, he's the one who gave counsel to Kevin Durant when he was making the decision to leave OKC.

To dismissively wave him off is pretty damn foolish.

Okafor is more likely a piece than either of those two. Horford really hasn't been that great for Boston.

Celts werent building a team around Fultz. Two-three unprotected first round picks for the next two years are cool with me, plus the plethora of second round picks available

Jerry West going to the Clips

David Griffin out in Cleveland

Chris Granger gone from Sac (he was behind keeping the team and the arena, the only two things they got right)

I sense a power play coming involving some of those parties and some players.

Imagine interviewing to coach the Knicks and being told you can't run your own offense, you gotta run what Phil wants (triangle). Because, you know, there's only one way to play offense in the NBA.

More spam from me, because I've been listening to draft podcasts:

I am dumbfounded by how clueless people are and I hope the mentality in the press doesn't reflect the mentality of NBA organizations. I hear all this talk of small ball and having someone to defend a Durant or Lebron, because those are the new bigs.

If you are a bad enough team to be drafting in the lottery this year then the prime of your team's window is at a point where those players are irrelevant or close to irrelevant to you from a competitive standpoint. You should look at where the best young talent in previous drafts happen to be and planning for that. Most of the hot young talent are bigs and point guards. You're up shit creek if your best defender is suiting up against Wiggins when Townes is destroying your weak ass bigs.

It's kind of amazing that people think teams so bad that they are lottery bound should be drafting to guard players in their current prime. If you have any sense of planning and goals, that should not be one of your primary notions.

baby jesus the original big baller thru 6/22/2017 = AD

6/23/17 til 4evah = BBBE

Sounds like both CP3 and Blake are opting out.  They know LA is now too hot for them in the Big Baller Brand Era.

Is CP3 gonna turn down like $70 million to chase a ring in San Antonio?

I have no idea who would have the room to take on Blake. Plus you gotta wonder if you're getting 2015-2016 playoffs Griffin or injured all the time Blake Griffin.

For fucking real. I'm completely for this shit. If you're gonna be the bad guy, lean into it. Say what you will about Lavar Ball, the dude is very media savvy (circa 2012)

I do hope this shit doesn't blow up in Lonzo's face. He has some insurmountable expectations to live up to (make the Lakers not only not an embarrassing team to root for/watch, but make them actually good) so I wonder if he's gonna be fucked either way.

Sidenote; I never thought I'd come to love Phil Jackson, but it warms my bitter little heart to know that someone in New York actually hates the Knicks more than I do. Fuck the Knicks.

I guess the Harden at point experiment is over.

Feel bunmed for Patrick Beverley.  He was the fire in the belly of the Rockets last season.  Now he's basically banished to a Clips team that is probably entering tank mode.

The Chicago Cubs were being honored for their epic World Series comeback over the Cleveland Indians, but you wouldn't know it by the way Gilbert became the center of the proceedings.

Trump made a few brief remarks to the Cubs in front of the press corps before he called out the Cavs' owner by name and extended an invitation to the team to join him for a tour of the Oval Office.

"Where's Dan? Where's Dan Gilbert?" Trump said as photographers snapped photos of the Cubs team standing next to the president and the Commissioner's Trophy in the Roosevelt Room. "He's right outside. Grab him. Where's Dan? Dan Gilbert just came in. He's from basketball. He's looking for a good basketball player. Anybody play basketball?"

Gilbert shouted back, "Yeah, we're looking for a couple guys."

As Gilbert made his way to the front of the room, someone cracked the joke, "It's tough for a guy from Cleveland," alluding to the Indians' loss to the Cubs.

"Come here, Dan," Trump said. "Come over here, Dan. Don't be shy. Do you want a good baseball player to play basketball?"

Then the president commented on the Cavs' loss to the Warriors.

"So, Dan owns the Cavaliers and I guess you can't say 'great' season, right?" Trump said. "'Good' season. Last year was a great season, right?"

Once Gilbert joined the group in the front of the room, Trump turned to Cubs skipper Joe Maddon and said, "So, ask him, how is he doing with LeBron (James)?"

James, of course, publicly stumped for Trump's opponent, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, in the battleground state of Ohio.

Gilbert appeared uncomfortable being put on the spot and said simply, "Things are good."
:rofl
