I'm never paying for NBA League Pass again. Stream quality fluctuates badly and I can't watch any playoff games until 3 hrs after the game is over since they're all aired nationally. What a waste of money.

Pirate Streams are almost always better than any of the streams I get through my cable company. Really weird.

Also by far the best game atmosphere I have been a part of since the team has been here(didn't get to see the 2007 run in person though). Still buzzing from the experience.

I'm sure for other teams this is probably more routine, but to see a crowd with this level of energy was something special, just hope we can carry into the rest of the playoffs and next season.

Pacers are simply the better team.  They play a better brand of offense and defense. Cavs are super shitty version of Houston. No movement on offense. Slow on D. Lue doesn't help.

Yeah, this Cavs team doesn't have the switch they had the last 3 years.

As they look right now, any of the top 6 west teams would beat them in a series.

Yeah, this Cavs team doesn't have the same switch they had the last 3 years.

As they look right now, any of the top 6 west teams would beat them in a series.

They were a two super star team (I'm gonna ignore whatever Love is because it ain't a superstar) and one of those got removed in the off-season. The whole season has been this way. An ugly grind.

Forgot about the West. They ain't making it to the finals. Highly probable they aren't making it out of this series.

Still blows my mind that the Cavs failed to secure Paul George at the start of the season.

I mean they tried. Indy went with the OKC offer which in retrospect was brilliant.

That's why I said west. Heat would give them a good 7 games that can go either way. :P

So in retrospect, was Love worth losing Wiggins for?

I mean its not like Wiggins has shown much himself. The Timberwolves fanbase isn't really happy with him either especially since they gave him the max. He's pretty much just an inefficient scorer who doesn't really play great defense.

I've never especially Loved Love in Cleveland but he serves a purpose when the other pieces are in place. A stretch 4 or 5 who spreads the floor. He's basically a too expensive puzzle piece The big sin was letting Kyrie go. You needed somebody else to diversify the offense. Kyrie was the important part of that. Once you removed him and basically replaced him with nothing (Isiah & then Clarkson) the whole engine breaks down. It can't just be Lebron. That is too predictable.

Most people believe that Kyrie wanted out partially because he didn't want to be under Lebron anymore but also partially because he was being dangled in trade talks at the time which is true. How much each factored in only Kyrie knows. He apparently threatened to have the current knee surgery he is having now before the season which would have scrapped his entire season unless he was traded.

I would have called his bluff. If you are in win now mode, you either keep him or you have to get back a quality player in return. Once you traded him and got nothing back, the Cavs finals run was effectively done.

I mean a post-mortem on this Cavs era will be a mix of missed opportunities, unfortunate timing with the rise of the warriors, and bad contract management.

The first finals run had Kyrie and Love hurt.

The second finals run was the win.

The third finals run was running into the brick wall of the Warriors juggernaut which happened because the cap exploded.

After the title win, they paid everybody and that was mistake. Lebron is not innocent here. It seemed fine at the time because everybody was overpaying everybody but it wasn't a good thing.

They should have let Schumpert walk. JR smith eventually got paid right when he was just at the tipping point of being washed up. Tristan Thompson got paid and he can't even get on the floor with the current squad. The league has moved away from the type of player he is at lightspeed. They started bringing in more and more offensive oriented players with sub-par defensive skills. It all adds up.

I'm assuming Lebron is gone of course because he has always chosen free agent opportunity of winning over staying in a situation where there is little to no hope. That's my guess of course but we'll see.

The story is going to be about how everyone underestimated Oladipo as the Pacers head to the finals for the first time in 18 years :lawd

lol. I don't think its gonna happen but good luck on it.

That being said, I love Oladipo. I'm super happy he's the man now. I always liked that dude. I always wanted him to turn it around. If they beat the Cavs, I'll be rooting for them.

I looked into this:
Quote
Apparently, an NBA owner got angry with a coach this season for trying too hard in a game that his team won. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski noted that instance in his podcast, which was picked up on by a keen Reddit user.

“I never heard more talk from front office executives’ frustration with coaches who were winning games that they didn’t want them to win. And owners, I know of an instance of an owner berating, really berating his coach here in the last several weeks of the season for going in and beating a pretty good team on the road, going ‘what are you doing?’ And think about that, that should not be going on.”
And I'm like 99.9% sure it's the Hawks. They beat the Wizards and Celtics back-to-back in games 80 and 81. And had beat the Jazz in Utah a couple weeks earlier. They could have tied Memphis for second worst record without the Wizards and Celtics wins. Tied Phoenix without the Jazz win also.

Plus it's fairly clear that ownership are not exactly fans of Budenholzer.

Things I noticed going into the next round:

1. The Blazers are a poor passing team and the traps exploited that. Inaccurate, slow passing meant they rarely burned the Pels for their defense. Evan Turner being a playmaking SF who can't playmake only worsened that.

2. Pels got away with playing illegal D a ton in this series. The refs won't ignore that versus Golden State.

4. Solomon Hill is not in sych with the rest of the team so far.

5. JRue took Dame's soul. Curious to see when Steph plays for GS.

What the fuck?? Call on the floor was a jump ball, they went to the monitor, green clearly initiating hostilities between he and lance, then they reverse the call to a flagrant 1 on lance, and give green 2 shots while everyone’s on the line like it’s a common foul?

What the fuck

I watched the post-game show and evidently the ref (on the floor) had his hand up because he called a foul on Stephenson putting a headlock on his opponent.

The Cavs looked like dogshit for 90% of that game and Kevin Love is infuriating to watch sometimes.

He's always been super prickly. The media ignored it when they wanted to bash on Lebron and promote him as the anti-Lebron but him going to the Warriors changed that.

Nothing wrong with being prickly. There are plenty of reasons to crap on the media. But Durant is annoyingly passive aggressive about it. Not to mention the whole twitter thing was just embarrassing for a star of his stature. You expect that from someone like Lance Stephenson. Not arguably the best player in the game.

durant's oddities where he's totally wired differently from everyone else can be amusing

my favorite thing about durant are all his tattoos that are just inside his jersey fit so they never show

also the warriors all getting frustrated with him slowing things down so he could call isolation plays last year was funny or green yapping at him when he would pull his "sorry, can't help you, i'm denying my guy the ball" defense routine when he sees a play coming towards his area of the court
