There will be no scientific awakening. But there sure as shit will be an increased amount of employers requiring yearly flu shots and corona-virus shots. Which will be a good thing. Some jobs still don't require flu shots but at this point...there is no excuse for that. Given the potential risks.
I dunno about flu-shots. But a change in policy/workplace is iffy, I feel. I can see the merits and certainly WANT jobs to stop treating sick-days as vacation days (use 3 and then use PTO forever), but I can't see them not going back to "business as usual" beyond "get your fucking COVID shot lol" to ensure money/profits over people.
But I'm cynical. Just like I think there is no GREAT AWAKENING in regards to science like REEEEtious seems to think there will be (but the facts back me up there with historical evidence and books saying the Republicans [and Demoncrats, in a way] shut down scientific info for policies/feelings). So take me with a grain of salt.
I’m hoping as people return back to work and are forced to mask up or take other precautions these things bleed over into their everyday life
It was pretty depressing that when I went to Lowe’s on Sunday, I’d say about 10 percent of the customers had masks on. Most of those people were “at risk” types of people, so they were doing it for their own sakes rather than the sakes of others. I saw maybe 8 other people (mostly couples) that were under 40 and had masks on.
I don't own a mask, and given mask problems right now...
I only went out today to deposit the Trump bucks but I had to stop by about 2 stores and given the county is low in cases, I wasn't too worried but there wasn't anyone beyond like 2-3 employees and about 1-3 others wearing masks (including someone I was riding with).
Apparently my job is to reopen on Monday and they will have PPE's ready, but I'm dubious on that given they were scrambling for supplies when the shutdown was first starting.
