The greatest cover ever .. or the greatest cover ever?

Kind of a creepy selection considering your flannel girl obsession.

Well no one told me about her the way she lied
Well no one told me about her how many people cried
But it's too late to say you're sorry
How would I know why should I care
Please don't bother tryin' to find her
She's not there

Well let me tell you 'bout the way she looked
The way she'd act and the colour of her hair
Her voice was soft and cool
Her eyes were clear and bright
But she's not there

I'm not going to class today, the finals are in 2 weeks so the class will be empty (the fact that today is Friday is not helping) and I don't feel like listening to an old man talking about his life for 10 minutes for every 5 minutes of actual class.

Arvie, we were writing class evaluations. Mine took ten seconds to fill out because I simply circled "great" for every question, not that it matters: the prof is in his 70s and well liked.

I was disappointed that flannel girl wasn't there. She's not in class like half the time I show up.

I had no luck trying to find a candidate for obsessive-law-school-crush-number2. Ms Cardigan Sweater, probably the second most attractive girl at school, is getting married. Little Ms. Know-It-All angers me, and besides, she doesn't like beards. I-Like-to-Wear-Boys-Clothing is cute, but has no body.

If she disappears, I can find her.

If she dies, I can . . .  well . . . you don't want to know what I'll do to her corpse.

Hair? That will be difficult.

I already have her mother's name. Yes, unfortunately I did some estalking last night. I'm concerned about the legal status of estalking in Manitoba. There's no case law to date; consequently, Flannel Girl v. Malek will be a landmark trial.

it's awesome and kinda cute that you have a nick for every chick you have a crush on

i still haven't found my flannel girl :(

in my first year of college, i had class with this 26 year old polish woman named magdalena. she was really hot and appeared in black 99.9% of the time. not that it matters or anything because i didn't even stand a chance--i was 18 and looked very young, and still do-- but it's a shame she had drawn on eyebrows.

i just thought i'd throw this out there

a lot of times when we had class late, she'd arrive with bags filled with expensive she'd bought at the mall--shoes, clothes etc.

she didn't have a job and when one of my friends once asked her how she could afford any of that stuff, she told him to shut up and got mad--from there on, we thought she was a woman of the night

maybe i've finally found a fitting nick for a chick i had a crush on... hookergirl

i also remember in one class she was looking at her myspace or whatever and there were all these pictures with her and some guy, and i was at the back and looked at her screen... i was kinda devastated. :(

If she has, does that mean she might dig Proudhon's long anarchist beard?

I wouldn't think so because they would still maintain a centralized state for legal and military purposes.

Some libertarians will argue that there are historical examples of privatized law enforcement (mostly 19th century England) which could be adapted to our society.

If you ever find yourself suggesting that the navy be replaced by letters of marque, it may be time to reconsider how you pick and choose your political battles.

Since the letter of marque were authorized and enforced by centralized states, does that even count? I think what I'm getting at is: how would an anarchist keep his private forces inline? Other private forces? What if they merged out of self-interest?

Maybe I should study anarchism, just in case I ever make it with flannel girl. Don't want to be ill prepared for sex AND anarchism talk.

There's probably an underlying assumption that everything will work out so well in anarcholibertopia that very few people will want to upset the apple cart, and naturally the majority would mete out mob justice.

Or that the productive members of society would create Rearden Metal the best weapons technology and naturally be able to fend off the leeches.

But honestly, aren't ~90% of anarchists just youths being idealistic or people looking to get a rise out of someone?

Anarchy has a duel meaning in our society. I would imagine most of those kids aren't real political anarchists.

Anarchists are not alone. Most ideologists believe that their preferred systems of government will work out so well that people won't have a reason to become dissatisfied or upset enough to cause internal conflict.

The problem isn't just within: anarchists have the same problem hunter and gatherers had: an inability to protect themselves from powerful organized, militarized, states. Imagine if South Korea dissolved and become an anarchist society. How, outside of the help of an actual state, would it protect itself from the North?

"After the revolution, we will all eat strawberries and cream!"

"But I don't like strawberries and cream."

"After the revolution, you will love strawberries and cream!"

Serious answer to the last part:  If they're coming at the question from an Ayn Rand place, they think of government as a crutch for the weak and ineffectual.  As long as the strong refuse to voluntarily submit, they will always triumph, and the strong are always righteous and more deserving.

But c'mon.  Picking apart anarchy is shooting bestickered skatefish in a barrel.

I only care because of flannel girl. If I don't get some decent answers which help prop up anarchy, I'll lose respect for her and only love her with 99.9% of my heart, instead of 100%.

And this forum continues to take on that intellectual heavy weight FoC! As far as I'm concerned, fictional anarchists put up a better fight.

Even look at Survivor, people don't want to see a Lord of the Flies social experiment, they want to see MXC-lite/Realword then have an orderly democratic vote for who leaves the Island. People are very happy with the social institutions that have been built up and would be scared shitless if they were taken away. I bet if there was something catastrophic to happen and there was a social breakdown, pie in the sky libertopians like JayDubya would be the first to have the smug grin wiped off their face.
