AFAIK, most current studies internationally (and there's a lot) so far were inconclusive or found it ineffectual. It's certainly not the silver bullet treatment it was hoped to be by its proponents.

In a way, it's the second best outcome for Trump propagandists because they'll continue to pretend it is effective without too much consequences. It's not a dangerous enough medication that too much people should die or be visibly crippled even if they self-medicate without any sort of semi-competent supervision.

Henry Fords study based on observational data that presents a correlation with covid recovery and hydroxychloroquine from their own hospitals is terribly biased. Really obviously bad method. It has a huge altmetric score (viral af) but basically no legitimate peer reviews, yet it's been cherry picked and touted by the right wing as evidence of the FDA crushing a "cheap, effective cure" yet the FDA hasn't based decisions on observational studies, especially not ones that shit for a long time. Only properly randomised, controlled studies cut it and 3 of those have so far indicated no correlation with Hydroxychloroquine influencing recovery.

The Lancet published a similar paper on hydroxychloroquine using observational data that read a hell of a lot better than the Henry Ford one, actually tried to control for factors like other medications being used and comorbidity and it was retracted due to peer review calling out bad method. No way that's going to happen with the Henry Ford one.

Otherwise maybe more conspi- than wank-dad but Alex Jones went full smear on the armed BLM protestor gunned down in Austin, calling him a creep (without elaborating why), claiming stills showed he pointed his gun (no such image exist, every video and photo evidence has him rifle pointed down) and despite witness and the police chief being clear the driver who shoot him initiated the incident at all points. I don't think he said so explicitly (Ted Nugent he has on whined that some BLM protestors were equipped and armed tho

) but he's close to just renege on years of so-called passionate second amendment after defending the deployment of federal goons last week.
