TASTY PROTIP: Plant flowers, build fences or pave roads anywhere that would be inconvenient to check every day for fossils. You can narrow the scope of where they appear to make it easier on your daily loop.

You can do same thing to control where your rocks spawn after you destroy them. You can make a little rock garden if you want to put in the effort

Finally convinced Hopper to move in via Amiibo card, and the upgraded Museum will open tomorrow too. Pretty much the last things on my to-do list for Ohana. After this I should just be doing daily loop stuff.

What's everyone been up to on their islands? I'm also curious if anyone's been using the top-down camera option at all -- I still default to it most of the time and reflexively hit the right analog stick every time I exit a building. (Wish this was a setting that would stick.)

Any reason to keep cedar trees around?

I have too many fucking fruit trees on ground level and I want to have more open spaces for roads/furniture/etc without sacrificing them.

Any reason to keep cedar trees around?

Not at the moment, but in the fall cedar trees will start producing a seasonal crafting material -- pinecones. (Hardwood trees will produce acorns.)

In addition, in December cedar trees get dressed to the nines. :)

I have too many fucking fruit trees on ground level and I want to have more open spaces for roads/furniture/etc without sacrificing them.

I've done this and it worked out really well, I think Cats did too. Basically segmenting the trees based on level. For me ground level is all fruit trees, level two is cedar and bamboo, and the third level is just cedar trees. Running around is a lot of fun. :)

If you cut too many trees down, Isabelle will tell you. The game will actually let you remove quite a few trees before taking a hit on your island rating.

If you don't feel like travelling, 150-200+ is good. If you're serious about selling and coordinating with others, 500+.

There is a friendship meter and gifts will make it increase based on what you give them.

So if its something they are into supposedly the meter fills faster. (apparently wrapping them as gifts also helps)

My understanding is that this friendship meter can give you a framed picture plus also the remaining reactions at different levels.

Also the reactions are based on the personality types so its best to have all 8 types so you can get all of them

Bought @ 107 bells

Monday AM: 93 bells
Monday PM: 89 bells

55.9% chance large spike, 38.9% chance decreasing, 5.12% chance small spike

Best sell time looks to be between Wednesday and Friday. Tomorrow will hopefully provide enough data to make a more precise prediction.

Oh thank god, I have all eight types. :whew

I have three cranky villagers and one each of the other types. The cranky club includes Rocco (who reads a lot and he's a giant hippo but he wears these tiny reading glasses and omg my heart), Camofrog (skeet skeet my weed dealer, he literally gave me a "pot" DIY recipe LMAO), and my newly moved-in GameCube BFF Hopper. :heartbeat

I've let the game fill the island out on its own, so it probably (hopefully?) is just balanced that way, and you only can really get yourself in trouble if you do a lot of manual move-ins (via Amiibo cards or other methods.)

Anyways, this just cements my desire to completely lock my current villager roster in place forever. :lol I really love all 10 of my animal neighbors.
