That video stuff on the ring mat during the SD title match was kinda cool.  Didn't really care for the match though.  Even if I don't care as much or at all for some of these matches, I still think this is one of the better PPVs in a while.  The tag ladder match is still match of the night and I don't think it's going to be topped.

Bray/Orton was the most forgettable shit on the card so far.

Lesnar/Goldberg was pretty fun

Man. Other than Brock/Goldberg, the last 1/2 to 1/3 of that ppv was the drizzling shits. Ending it with that stillbirth of a Taker/Roman match was simultaneously the most appropriate and awful ending of the show.

I honestly don't blame Roman. Taker was fucking gassed immediately, and with the way it was booked there was no way Roman was going to come out of it looking good. Just a fucking insane decision to close the show with that.

I just feel bad for him. He was in a bad position from the start since he was wrestling a 300 pound geriatric, so the match wasn't really expected to be too explosive, but they also went about it in the safest way possible. There's a lot of room to do interesting stuff with the "face who's actually a heel to smarks" angle imo but I have no idea what this is anymore

Might have been better off if they did it like Undertaker's first WM match against Snuka, only its Taker who gets manhandled and can't do shit against Reigns.

Styles/AJ - average
Ownes/Jericho - don't even remember anything about it
Raw Womens title - boring, bad ending
Raw Tagger - pretty great, but bad ending
Cena/Miz - average
Rollins/HHH - slightly above average
Orton/Wyatt - boring as shit
Lesnar/Goldberg - pretty great, should have been main event
Smackdown Womens title - short but had some punch. Glad Naomi won it
Reigns/Taker - boring


I don't give Reigns any credit. Old as Taker is, he still did a few spots. He's still somewhat capable. Reigns just had no flair to anything he did. He went through his motions. He should have carried Taker the entire time, that's the test. Instead he just did the same boring shit.

I feel like the only match in the last 1/3 of the show they nailed was Lesnar/Goldberg. Bray/Orton had the stupid projector shit and buried Bray with the ending, which is nothing new so I don't know why I'm surprised. The SD women's match was ok but was rushed and a palate cleanser. Rollins/HHH was ok, but could have lost 5 minutes and it would have been fine. Taker/Roman was a complete fiasco, and honestly I blame whoever decided to have it go on last. Vince, I guess.

Reigns, being the young up and comer, should be able to carry the old Taker to something halfway decent. AJ most definitely would have. Reigns is just a boring wrestler that needs a script to do anything. Look at the Tombstone reversal spot. He could have done any number of things to audible out of that, instead they tried like three times and then he panicked and did a superman punch. He's got no flair and as such the match ends up being a tired boring slog.

Stro was right in one regard, this match didn't need 23 minutes.

Look at the Goldberg/Lesnar match. 4 minutes 33 seconds. That match has more punch, more storytelling, and was far and away more fun than Taker/Reigns.

Taker/Reigns should have been 10 minutes MAX. Nothing but powermoves and high impact spots. If you want to cement Reigns have him run circles around Taker. It was bad booking plus Reigns just not knowing what the fuck to do in a pinch.

I would suspect Goldberg would have been in the same position had his match gone 23 minutes. But at least Lesnar would have been able to carry him around.

Reigns just doesn't have the skill.

I am by no means absolving Taker of all the blame. I'm simply saying that Roman doesn't get off scott free just because Taker is old.

yeah there's not much roman could have done there, the undertaker is just an old man and he moves like an old man. brock should have retired him a few years ago cause he looked real rough then and brock gave him a hell of a beatdown.

overall for last night i enjoyed every match other than the sd women's match (super rushed but that isn't the women's fault) and the main event. but botching a main event is par for the course for wwe in general so i guess it wasn't that shocking. if they'd actually put on brock/goldberg as the main event that would have been a hell of a way to end it.

tonight should be fun. is it a cross brand Raw? i assume not but you never know.

Yeah, Taker is 52 and has had some nagging injuries.  He should have hung it up a few 'Manias ago.  Really after Brock beat him, because his matches haven't been the same since then.

I liked most of Mania. Seth/HHH was a masterpiece but was cursed by its placement. It was absolutely a masterpiece.

Hardys returning was unnnnnnreal, place exploded. It doesn't get much higher than that.

Taker should have left a couple years back. Roman couldn't save him. I doubt anyone could have. Glad he's finished. Jus' let it go.

AJ/Shane was much better than expected.

Bray/Randy was disappointing.
