Don't believe what people say. Barça didn't do tiki-taka! It's completely made up! Don't believe a word of it! In all team sports, the secret is to overload one side of the pitch so that the opponent must tilt its own defence to cope. You overload on one side and draw them in so that they leave the other side weak.

:beli

What he's describing sounds like any counter attacking style out there. Tiki Taka wasn't that.

the only explaination i'd accept of this is that it's just an evolution of the Dutch "Total Football" ideal just with passing and pressing being the utter key - to the extent you through traditional formations and positions out the window.

So really, Tiki-taka isn't anything other than Total Football+. Even then Pep introduced -radical- improvements so....

but yeah - one of the big critisicms of Tiki-Taka is it reduces your ability to switch flanks - which expedites the stretching of defenses if you have the talent. But Barca weren't doing that, so i think this is more just distancing himself from it before he gets into "Tiki-taka is over!" conversations (which have already started happening and it's forever associated with Pep, even if he took it to it's plinth, he didn't start it...)

Going by their track record in CL, and knowing how inconsistent they can be with their current coach, probably not first. They lost against Malme lol. They'll finish second with Atletico annihilating the rest of the fixtures.

was thinking of heading over to see my lot get thumped by the superstars, but given that we seem to be reliably doing over the class z teams at home (couldn't say that last year), i think i save a few quid and book in a feel good afternoon a bit down the line.

was really hoping some ivan would sort out sergio-kun's knees for the weekend. seems to have found his form at the worst possible time.

I'm not too excited for 2018, tbh. Can't imagine playing in Russia is going to be anything but pure shite. Maybe their petroeconomy will collapse by then.

i imagine it'll be rowdy as all hell. like one of those wonky europa league trips to the eastern block but ramped up to soviet olympic proportions.

Don't know how i feel about this upcoming Manchester derby. It was all good just a week ago.

all that money for Mangala, but he's just been a mistake machine.

depends on silva's knee. still think he's pretty much the best player in the league on his day. doubt we'd have got the result we did if pellegrini didn't stick him out on the wing to rot for 65 minutes.

I would prefer MLS be more international than American in its character but idk how the FC style clubs are going to compete in 2 team cities. I guess it's more acute in LA since the Gals aren't a fucking billboard.
