It's a lot. What confuses me about that though is that reports stack for a single post. So at most, in the report queue, no matter the amount of reports, it'll be n entries for n questionable posts.

One annoyance however is that if you decide a post isn't worth a report, and you close that report, if it gets reported it gets reopened again. So a visible warning becomes a way to cut off reports on a post but there's no way to permanently mark a post as "not breaking the rules". The reason that's annoying is that three people could keep closing reports on a post and some idiot later on can come in and issue a ban.

Another issue is that one motivated person can make a thread look especially bad if they have an issue with the thread by reporting a lot of similar posts.

Cream is a good poster, but defending that moderation is whack.

A lot of the time, the ban reason is just... not accurate according to any reasonable reading of the post. Other times the reason is accurate, but shouldn’t be bannable on any reasonable forum.

Cerium himself never seemed like a super uptight poster when I knew him in PoliGAF, so this comes down entirely to the staff he selected. It’s probably not even all of them, but clearly there are at least a few mods who just should not be mods given the original stated goal of RE. That’s fucking out the window now though. How long did the less hands-on moderation thing actually last? Like a month?

Cerium just wants to make money, same for a number of other key members, they want to use it to solidify their positions as analysts/PR and sell themselves to big companies.

It it was more advertiser friendly and better PR to spew insane right wing shit they'd line up to do that too
