Thought I was being efficient and I could run from the shop to resident services quickly. Same reason Blathers is at the bottom of the square.

Also yesterday and today I seem to have slowed my roll a bit and fell into some of the classic AC gameplay I know and loved.

On the one hand it feels a bit empty having less stuff to do, but I worked so hard precisely to get to this point... where I had an abundance of villagers, all the shops open, and things well on their way. Now instead of 10 things to look forward to every day I have 3-4 which is still fine! But yeah, playing slightly less recently.

Actually it's 50k, just checked the prices

50k to move the Shop
50k to move the museum
50k to move a resident
30k to move your house

Still ridiculous.

Oh whew I can knock that out in a half hour max.

Paying to move shit is actually a bold new addition to the franchise. Previously everything was permanent, or for public works in NL, sell them off for a fraction of their cost and start building a new one elsewhere. :doge

It actually will cost you 100k to move it 2 squares because the new position can't overlap with the existing position. You'd need a temp intermediate spot

Someone tell me about the string fish. Does it have different bobs than other fish? Because there's a fish I'm encounter that feels like it's a bob but it's not? Or it bobs and run away if you're not fast enough? Is that the string fish?

I've always felt that (and could never confirm for sure) that rarer fish have shorter bob windows.

Not sure tho.

Every night I hear a cricket or something by the trees but I can't find it

 :rage

This bothered me for MONTHS in AC GC. To the point I started wacking everything with my net and shovel and digging random holes.

I’m almost at that 5,000 nook miles to actually get to the real game.

So far AC is not for me and I don’t get what the general public sees in it, feels boring and archaic. Tiny inventory space, slow text, slow everything, repetitive gathering, can only eat one fruit at a time, etc...

You can speed up the text just hit b every line

You can speed up crafting animation, hit a twice

Increased inventory is a must do asap.

Why the fuck are you eating fruit

First off, this game is beautiful.

Secondly...

I've always felt that (and could never confirm for sure) that rarer fish have shorter bob windows.

Not sure tho.

No, you're right. It's been a while since I hunted truly rare fish in AC. Usually I apply a "close my eyes/look at my character and hear the bob" rule but with rare fish like this, you can't do that because you need to use reflex. The problem is that because it has the same size as a sea bass you don't know what you're going to get. Usually ultra rare fish are much bigger than bass so you know what to look for. Here, you don't. In NL it's easy to tell what an ultra rare fish is: by the fin protruding from the water (this doesn't apply to all rare fish obviously). But in NH, I think the sizes are more subtle. So you have to be actively looking for the bob and hit A asap.

I got it as soon as making that post once I realized that I needed to look at the fish rather than away to get it due to its rarity.

Lesson learned. Or relearned, I should say.

Set up my campsite on the little isle with the fruit trees and surrounded the trees with flowers.

My island is going to be the best. I can feel it.

Give Isabelle her own game please.

All I want to do is work on my hot springs but I keep having to shoot down balloons :rage

But it's letting me get to the 300 balloons popped achievement quicker sooo... :idont

This achievement they actually increased the requirements. In ACNL the gold badge was 200 balloons popped.

Yeah even before today they clearly either upped the spawn rate (used to be every 15 mins), or changed the algorithm for where they spawn (if they always spawn close to you instead of either side of the island, you're more likely to see them.)

I think it's because there's less furniture in trees now. Hitting trees with your axe for wood supplies makes shaking them redundant. So now the main method of delivery are balloons. I honestly have no complaint and consider it an improvement.

Speaking of presents.

Tip for newbies.

It gets less use now because the edges of your town don't exactly have cliffs like in the past, but still worth knowing about.

BTW that music is killer. It could work as a Sonic water stage theme.
