I watched New Girl or whatever the other night (Tuesday night?) with Zooey.  My god.  That show is awful.  The forced quirkiness reminds me of Scrubs (I hated Scrubs so fucking much).

So it was just that episode?  I decided to watch because it started getting some praise 'round these parts but yeah, that episode was awful.

Is it an Australian show? Aussie accents really throw me off.

No Aussie accents. Everyone's got an American, British, or NAZI accent.

So far the villains have been Goebbels (who stole all the world's monuments to combine into one Nazi super-monument) and Mengela (who created a race of Nazi Super Dinosaurs in a secret base in Antarctica)

Scrubs is one of the best comedy series of all time, GTFO. Well written, funny, great characters who evolved throughout the series, an impressive group of side and bit characters, etc.

No, I love Scrubs. It's a great show, and its only failing was the final season which sucked. I guess some will argue the season prior to that should truly be considered the "end" as it gave some closure whereas the actual final season introduced a bunch of boring new characters like a reboot.

Community is good stuff. Especially for network tv. Some people hate on it because GAF went obnoxiously nuts about it when it first came on. Others hate to hate. Scrubs is one of those TV shows that I thought was decent enough whenever I watched it but never got around to watching very many episodes. I'll netflix it at some point. It definitely had funny bits.

Up All Night is good, its too bad its pretty lowkey as far as popularity. The opening yesterday dealt with the couple about to go out with a younger couple. As they were getting ready they were listening and talking about dubstep and trying to understand it they, likened the crescendo (dropping the bass) of dubstep to the crescendo in Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight".

This should have been the end, and it was supposed to be but it kept getting renewed and Lawrence changed his mind on the series "just ending" with life going on :

The "lean in" wasn't supposed to be resolved when it was written and they wasted two seasons on putting J.D. and Elliott back together because of it.

I actually liked the "student" season more than some of the later seasons (like whichever had the soldier plot) but it was grasping hard at trying to relive the first few seasons of the original show. With no clue how to really do any of it.

But now we have Cougar Town, for a few more months, and that's a trade off I'll always make. Because it's the best.

It's basically hanging by a thread on if it will be renewed or not. It's not coming back until April and FOX is moving it to Friday nights.

First three eps of Season 1 are good, then the last three are eh. First seven eps of Season 2 are good, last three are eh. The creators aren't good at keeping the steam going all season.

I must admit I'm rather bummed Conan Steven's character died. It made sense to move the plot forward, but it sucks that Stevens left Game Of Thrones....to do one episode of Spartacus. Yea he's going to be in The Hobbit as well, but still...I had hoped he'd be in a few episodes at least.

It's not yet, but its ratings have been terrible, it's getting an extended hiatus and is being moved to Friday just like The Good Guys was. Every one of those various "analysts" (like tvbythenumbers, etc.) seems to think it's sitting on the chopping block with Alcatraz and if only one of them goes it'll be The Finder.

50 Cent will be on the next episode when it comes back in April so it'll probably be saved due to the big ratings.

the first season didn't really appeal to me until about episode 9.  I really liked the pilot but hated everything that came after that until episode 9 which finds the right formula and it just clicks.  I'd say watch that one and if it doesn't grab you then I'd abandon it altogether

Spartacus is tv's best kept secret. Seriously.

The editing in the last five or so minutes of the show were amazing.

If this were Walking Dead or any other show, they would have showed Gannicus doing the slaughter on the caravan, and spilling the pooch. Spartacus instead, plays with the viewers expectations, only to cunningly show off fantastic character development and intrigue in the process.

It was pretty obvious Gannicus killed the caravan. The only slight mystery was whether he had killed Glaber's wife; I knew he didn't before the reveal, because of the way the thing was shot. There was no way they'd reveal her death the same way they revealed the death of Spartacus' wife

No shit Gannicus killed the caravan. The whole point is that if it were any other show, they'd show the entire sequence. I also like how they teased Gannicus possibly killing Glaber, but nope. It's Seppia getting ready for some fuck time! But where's Gannicus? Oh, he just slaughtered an entire caravan of dudes and stole the praetor's wife.

:bow

That episode had so much shit jam packed in it.

I bet Illythia will plant seeds of doubt in Spartacus that she is carrying his child in order to survive.

The way I figure it, Gannicus' reply is a wife for a wife. He is doing exactly what Lucretia told him to, just in his own way.

KOTH gets that developed characters are important and lets you do a ton of humor you can't otherwise.

A lot of people I know always thought it was some kind of "redneck humor", like Blue Collar TV or something. Didn't know it was from the same guy who did Office Space, Idiocracy, Beavis and Butthead.

Plus why would he handle the entire situation so sloppily knowing Daryl is like a fucking Aragorn level tracker. Even if he knew the virus re-animated bodies (perhaps he learned that at the hospital, after Rick was shot?), he had to know Daryl might still find the zombie walking around and thus ruin his entire alibi.

Plus, why kill Rick in the moon light...within clear vision distance of the farm...knowing look outs were on duty...wtf. People in the GAF thread are arguing Shane was simply crazy and irrational which is certainly true, but Shane also was a realist and a survivor. So why would he take so many chances with a poorly thought out plan.

It pokes fun of redneck and Texas suburban living with a liberal twist. Hank Hill is very conservative, but he's open. People who say that never gave it the time of day. It's the same social consciousness that one expects from Judge.

I love it. My home away from home.

Don't you remember that goofy scene where the CDC guy whispers something in Rick's ear and never reveals what it is?

That's what he whispered, probably.

Anywho, that end scene was the best scene in the season, and that's saying a lot considering 99% of it has been shit.
