Rewatching 30 Rock cause I just realized it was on netflix. Over the last 4 years I only really watched the finale.

Man, this show is as good as I remember it. I'm almost at the 5th season. When does this show fall off? I'm just going to watch through it because I remember liking the finale, but would like to know when I can expect a downgrade.

it doesn't really. iirc S6 was a dip compared to the rest but it was still hilarious.

binged through s3 of house of cards. overall i was disappointed and there was one point where kevin spacey's advance warfare character seemed more realistic than frank in this. not sure how much of this can be salvaged

I'm fairly certain that one of my favorite television characters  (Dr. Spencer Reid) is just a rehash of Fox Mulder. :tocry

Also, watching TV in 4:3 is #STRUGGLE. :stahp

The last episode of The Americans and Banshee were amazing God level stuff. And neither is a show you just watch in the background not only because there's a lot going on, but because the actors are good enough to always be capable of showing but not telling their emotions, while simultaneously brandishing shotguns and sexual tension to shield their souls and destroy their enemies. I think I'm going to try to find a local weed guy before the next episode of Banshee though.

I think House of Cards Season 3 was the strongest season yet, and by a long shot as well.

Season 1: 8.5/10
Season 2: 7/10, because I didn't care that much about the Raymond Tusk and Chinese businessman subplots, but the season ended strong
Season 3: 9/10
House of Cards season 3 was pretty damn good.

maybe i'm misremembering the first two seasons but i remember liking them both a lot more than this one.
spoiler (click to show/hide)
they change claire's character from lady macbeth to menopausal and unable to control her emotions, frank is supposed to be a democrat yet gives a speech about how no one gets entitlements and getting 10 million jobs out of his am works programme is lolworthy, the whole doug and rachel thing went on for far too long but thankfully it's done now. the best thing was the interactions with the russian president and i would've liked to see a lot more of that

Season 5 is the dip, for me. But it’s minor. From s5 to the end, it stays about the same, which is still funnier than most other shit on TV.

I watched the first couple episodes with my wife last night.

1) Loved that he pissed on his dad's grave, clearly shows he is in full bad guy mode.
2) The whole Doug Stamper recovering shit is whack....I hope moving forward he is less featured but he probably will be. Never liked his nodding sycophant style.
3) Remy is the fucking dog.

My ratings

Season 1: 9/10
Season 2: 7/10 (I concur, fuck Tusk)
Season 3 (so far) 8/10

Edit: I loved the Russian president, what a great character. An intelligent bully, you don't get to see that much.

House of Cards Season 3 finish

spoiler (click to show/hide)
I'm not sure how I felt about this one. I enjoyed it a lot especially in the beginning, but I look back on Frank's tenure through the season and I feel kinda disappointed. He really regressed as a statesman. The stamper storyline was kinda pointless. the betrayal to Dunbar was of course fake, he recovered from injury, and he still couldn't kill that chick lol. When I look back on the season, the only thing I see is that their marriage deteriorated and that Frank alienated like half his staff out of arrogance.

Finally finished my re-watch of Farscape s1; looks like in s2 they
a) change out Rygel's muppet for a new one; likely maintenance problems.
b) in s1's two-part season finale, there's a guy in a half-mask who doesn't appear in any subsequent episodes, despite Moya being completely trapped in an asteroid field, the central story conceit to the next four episodes.
c) finally decide to start a larger series arc -- YAY!

anyone ever watch Nathan For You? holy Christ I like weird shit but that is unbearable. like I just want to step into the tv and punch this guy for how he fucks with ppl. I have no words for the shit he comes up with.

like this episode I saw had him try out being a magician, and so for his daring trick he decided to have a robot built that could pull down pants, then he handcuffed himself and had to remove them before the robot removed his pants. the catch was that he got parents to bring an audience full of REAL CHILDREN, and then working with a judge and a cop (who he had on standby at the event) he ensured that if his pants came down he would be exposed to all the kids and be tried and registered as a sex offender. like who the shit even comes up with that. what in the entire fuck I just don't even. it really is just completely fucked

John Oliver is cool and his show is cool but it gets annoying when his punchline delivery becomes so apparent. He always repeats the last line of the punchline at least twice, the second time with more emphasis.
