I think the Clips should let Blake go and trade DJ for picks. They're asset cupboard is pretty low and Doc has Jamal Crawford signed into his Big Three career years.

When they traded Cousins, I ditched them.

Never trust that organization to do something right. They've stumbled into good things before and then screwed it up within a year. Their legacy is constantly rebuilding before they even built something. If the Sixers were The Process then the Kings are The Foundation Pit.

CP3/Harden/PG13 doesn't seem like a good fit to me. Although Harden is the issue to me in any combination you have those three together.

CP3/Harden is such a bad combo for compatibility reasons. Like Harden flourished when he got away from a ball dominant guard in Westbrook and now he's back to playing alongside another ball dominant guard. I'm kinda surprised that such an analytical org as the Rockets would do this.

They're both dominant, but they still have a very different playstyle, no? Seems to me that there was much more overlap in playstyle and abilities Westbrook and Harden than there is between Paul and Harden.

Of course it's still a gamble but unless teams are willing to risk something (and players like Harden are willing to change a bit) they won't stand a chance against the warriors or cavs in the next couple of years anyway.

Paul and Harden do have different styles, with both styles being ball dominant.

D'Antoni's system is its own style though and I'm not sure how many dominant ball handlers on the court at the same time it can accommodate.  Don't know if one of them will just spot up shoot without the ball or what. Will it be 7 seconds or less or will it be 7 seconds unless Paul has the ball and wants to do called plays.

Pelicans are going to give Jrue Holiday $170 million over five years.

They realize they have to pay Davis and Boogie right?

And the Gordon Hayward stuff is kinda weird to me. Part of me would sorta rather get say Milsap on three years for cheaper than get Hayward for a max contract. Guess it depends on what team.

Apparently the Nets are considering using one of those poison-pill style max offers on Otto Porter or KCP.

Blake apparently going to talk to Phoenix before the Clips. All the Clippers stories have this constant hinting about something involving Austin Rivers happening last season that I must have missed but did not please the vets.

I like Holiday and players like Holiday but he has major injury issues. If he had stayed healthy, he'd probably be in Mike Conley range.

Going to be crazy once it hits midnight est. The first contracts are always the overpaid middle tier guys that make everyone do spittakes.

The Chandler Parsons contract is pretty bad. Curious what the Grizz will do about it. It's not just that he's always hurt. I am not sure he's all that good anymore.

A soft cap, Bird rights, and the Ajinca/Asik contracts basically paint them into that corner.

He's the only PG they'd be able to pay more than ~$11 million so there's no simple way to upgrade if they let him walk. Same dynamic as the Kanter and Tristan Thompson contracts.

Paul George to OKC makes no goddamned sense

edit: reading Lowe's reaction to it, it still doesn't make sense to me.  PG13 is just going to lose in the second round of the playoffs, again.

I don't see a point in the Clippers keeping it together, but I don't get to enjoy the playoff money that owners do.

Raptors are an interesting blow up potential. New Orleans would be in a great spot if they never did that Asik deal. The two best bigs in the league for any guard to pair with. But they blew money on Asik and a small forward I can't even name right now.

Denver has a lot of cap space and keeps trying to get a big name.

Free-agent forward Andre Iguodala has agreed to return to the Warriors on a three-year deal worth $48 million, sources told ESPN. He was also mulling multiyear offers from the Rockets, Spurs and Kings
.
Golden State now has $130M in guaranteed contracts that include the three-year, $48M Andre Iguodala contract and $31.8M projected Kevin Durant salary. If the Warriors fill out their roster with minimum contracts their total salaries will be $137.5M with a luxury tax bill of $40.2M.

Yeah they've been rumored to be after him for the past few days. They have to dump Lou Williams and or Jamal Crawford to make it work. Probably Lou Williams since he is younger and cheaper.

Clippers dodged the bullet of having an aging diminutive point guard only to put their chips in on two guys who can't stay healthy.

Former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin has pulled his name out of the New York Knicks' front-office search, a source told The Undefeated's Marc J. Spears.

Griffin turned down the opportunity because he and the Knicks couldn't agree on a role, a source said.

He and the Knicks "just couldn't make it work," a source with knowledge of the talks told ESPN's Dave McMenamin. The issue came down to finding a proper role for Griffin while front-office executive Steve Mills continues to work for the team.

With Griffin having withdrawn from consideration, sources with knowledge of the Knicks thinking said Steve Mills will continue to lead the Knicks' front offices for the foreseeable future, as he has throughout free agency.

Sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that the Knicks and Griffin were at odds over Griffin not having full authority on basketball decisions and over Griffin's preference to bring in his own staff. No formal contract offer was made.
