Best birthday present ever! Oh AMC, you shouldn't have  :-*

I caught the season premieres of Shamelss and Californication. :heartbeat Shamless :heartbeat I had low expectations for Californication, and they met those expectations. Not sure where they're going to go with this, other than it's 2+ years after it left off. meh

Cooking Channel is adding the British show The Supersizers Take On... starting this weekend. I've caught it a few times on Food Network Canada while in Vancouver, extremely entertaining.

A strange, disturbing and modern tale about drugs, stalking and darkness visible, The Mystery of Edwin Drood by writer Gwyneth Hughes is a two-part psychological thriller about a provincial choirmaster’s obsession with 17-year-old Rosa Bud and the lengths he will go to to attain her.

I tried, but I couldn't watch more than an episode or so. Not because it's bad, but because it is *so* painful and awkward to watch. I had a similar problem with Peep Show, but I eventually got over it with that show.

btw that chick (Tazmin Merchant) was originally cast to play Dany on Game Of Thrones, and played her in the first pilot that was done (which later was re-done). I'm so glad they got rid of her. She's a good actress but isn't attractive at all, and doesn't fit the role

Brody doesn't detonate the bomb. I mean I understand why they can't do that, but that's because of American television needing to stretch things out as long as possible. Wish it was just a miniseries. Not looking forward to Carrie slowly remembering to suspect Brody again.

Happy Endings is funny, but I don't get how the dialogue is any more realistic or less contrived than other "witty" shows.

And I had no idea one of the characters is supposed to be gay, kind of refreshing how they don't beat you over the head with it.

It's mostly because the chemistry between the actors and actresses is just about perfect. But I find more obscure references on HE than other sitcoms, which I love. It's like early HIMYM.

Watched the first two episodes of Downtown Abbey. It's good, but not mind-blowing. Not sure why you guys are so sold on it, but I'll probably stick with it for the remaining... 5 episodes? The dialog is dense, and charming. That's my take-away so far.

Deadwood was great. Too bad they didn't finish the series with a movie, as they'd discussed.

Olyphant is great in it. He's also good in the pilot/ep. 1 of Justified. Unfortunately, I think that's basically it for him. In Deadwood, I wished I could walk the same way he does. Man, he walks like a badass in that.

Got 3 episodes left on Dollhouse S2.  Hooooooly shit, show is crazy!  I finally get what everyone was talking about when it was airing and they said it was like Whedon wrote every episode after the halfway point as if it were covering an entire season story arc.  I've never seen a show paced like this before.  Every ep is a self-contained story with large scope and tons of plot movement.  Some of the twists and explanations are a bit lulz, but the show is infinitely better than it was at the start.
