That scene with Gus Grimly and his neighbour had to be a nod to A Serious Man and the rabbis.

Arrow

Season finale :whew

Not as consistent as season 1, but has way higher highs and ultimately, I think the season long story arc makes for much more compelling tv at the end of the day. Fantastic finale. The finale fight had some of the best editing on tv this year. :obama

this show is so. fucking. good. Colin Hanks really flexes his acting chops in this episode in a way that has impressed me more than anything else I've seen him in. He's so perfectly naïve and charming. The tension just rises and rises, I cannot wait to see how much it drums up as we head into the back half of the season. Wowowowowow.

It's also worth mentioning that the cinematography is absolutely stunning. Each episode finds more and more striking and beautiful ways to show off the Minnesota landscape. It's as if the setting is one of the show's characters, and it's just as detailed and expressive as the actors.

Shit's about to get very interesting. Pretty much everyone has their sights set squarely on Malvo now, including Adam Goldberg and the deaf guy. Very interested to see where this goes.

Man, this show is going to kill at the Emmys. I read somewhere it's getting submitted as a mini-series, which means its only real competition is AHS, which was shit this year (True Detective is submitting under Drama). Allison Tolman is totally getting an (much deserved) Emmy.

I normally don't spare a thought for award shows, but it'd be nice if what you're saying happens simply so that more people are drawn into the show (which is possibly one of the reasons award shows exist anyways?).

I will schlick myself furiously if Tolman wins an emmy.

yeah that was literally discussed on the last page. no it's only tangentially related to the movie (theme, setting, a nod or two) but at some point you ought to watch the film because it's fantastic.

Great final. Hong Kong instead of Russia and with Waller?  Could make the flashbacks interesting again.  Finally Thea is gone.  She is stupid.  The true love bit was great.  I was really going wtf for a second.  Bought the first season on Bluray just to support the series, that's how much I like this show.

Agents

spoiler (click to show/hide)
OK final.  I liked what it set up for the second season and enjoyed the humour of the dude getting blown to bits.  Hopefuly AoS and Agent Carter will keep up the post CA2 quality.  I'm more excited about the 4 netflicks MCU series though.  Daredevil is going to be like an 8 hour long movie and available all at once.

Fargo is one of the few movies entered into the National Film Registry on its first year of eligibility. You should watch it, tv show or not. It's of the best of American cinema.

Fargo has a lot of funny parts but it's quite dark. Especially to me, as I'm guilty of ignoring some problems and having to deal with the consequences of inaction being more dire than the problem itself. Shit is depressing brehs.

Finally got around to watching the first ep of 24 Life Another Day. Gotta say that was probably the weakest premier ep of the show I can remember. On the positive side I love that Heller is president now, and it's good to see Chloe again. But the episode didn't really set up "the threat" well at all IMO. I'll watch the second tomorrow.

On a side note it reminds me of one of my biggest 24 complaints. The show killed off so many characters to create twists or shock moments that by the time it got to later seasons it just felt empty. New characters often feel like copies of previous ones.

Season 4 is Red Dragon.

I haven't liked the second half of this season so much.  Anyone being convinced that Chilton was the Ripper is distinguished mentally-challenged.  Hannibal keeping someone alive (that just coincidentally happens to have a connection to someone he'd work for in the future) is distinguished mentally-challenged.  Will's "dark side" plan is distinguished mentally-challenged.  Will going back to Hannibal and Hannibal accepting him is distinguished mentally-challenged.

whoah.

Authorities in America say The Shield actor Michael Jace has been arrested on suspicion of murder after his wife was found shot dead at their home in Los Angeles.

Officer Chris No says police arrived at the couple's home on Monday evening after a report of shots being fired.

Officials say 40-year-old April Jace was found dead inside.

Michael Jace, 51, was then taken into custody and booked on suspicion of homicide.

He is being held on $1 million (£593,000) bail.

Celebrity website TMZ claims the actor called police himself to report the shooting and that two of his children were in the house at the time.

Jace played Detective Julien Lowe in FX drama The Shield and played a police officer in Southland.

He also had roles in Forrest Gump and Planet of the Apes.

The actor and his wife were married for nine years while Jace has another child from a previous relationship.

literally had no idea he was that old.  he looked so young in the show
