Just watched 10 minutes of the Lethal Weapon TV series and I feel sad for anyone that actually enjoys this shit.

Fuck off shiteater, Lethal Weapon is rather enjoyable and has a great cast.

I legitimately found the Big Bang Theory more enjoyable. At least I made it through an episode of that.

The Counterpart is pretty great so far, went in expecting nothing and came out having a must watch show. Channel Zero episode 1 was kind I dunno .. dull? I'm not sure if i'm behind this season's ghost story. Waco is pretty great so far, I love the acting in here, some actors are sinking so deep into their roles they are unrecognizable

Channel Zero is nap fuel, both seasons. It sure knows how to bore up an interesting premise. No idea if the same team did both seasons, but I hope the next season uses an entirely new team.

Also, Saved by the Bell is on Hulu. Goodby next few days.

Generally Slater. Zack is an asshole that I wouldn’t want to be involved with. However, as an adult, blind items indicate Mario Lopez is probably a possible #metoo candidate, so Zack might be my adult pick.

Been laughing at A.P. Bio. Its almost a Dennis Reynolds show bouncing his crazy off high school kids and Patton Oswalt. There is a network veneer to it that kills what bite it could have but I'm still enjoying it.

CHRISTIAN SLATER IS PROBABLY WHY THEY REFUSE TO REVEAL THE TIME TRAVEL MACHINES AND ALTERNATE UNIVERSES YET BUT SEASON FOUR THEY'LL HAVE TO REVEAL THAT STUFF FOR SURE. NO, WHAT'S A "FLASHBACK"? WHY WOULD A SHOW EVER DO THAT? ESPECIALLY ONE WITH A DEEP ALTERNATE UNIVERSE TRAVEL MECHANIC AT ITS CORE?

finished alt-carbon and also rewatched 2049. carbon didn't finish so strong for me. I'll check out another season if they make it, but I don't really care if a second season gets made or not. 2049 was better second time around, but still lacking somehow. I feel like I'd much rather watch the original again than this new blade runner and I'll probably always feel that way.

small update on Lucifer while it takes its short break for those who from time to time ask about it unsure and then are afflicted with my long rambling reviews which confirm their worst fears (that they've read one of my posts)

the show ended it's odd hopping about with hold over episodes from last season, and Maze's actress returned from pregnancy so she's back on the show for adventures finally, both of which stabilized the arcs/teamups and they've brought in what i assume is this seasons arc character finally, Cain

and Lucy's agreed to help him find a way to finally die to spite dad

so again, it's not the comic and it'll never be, but now having that extra character in Cain who can talk about all the supernatural stuff means they spend a lot more time on it than when he has to hang out with humans/cops only, and events leading to (even if it was wonky and oddly planned) and involving Cain have gotten Lucy back to thinking about free will and opposing his dad's predestination presumptions which they sorta distractedly lost for a bit (the show seemingly apologetically had Lucifer outright come out and say he was getting caught up in useless drama and police adventures, rather than pursuing his real reason for being on Earth, to spite Dad)

also they did an episode where Lucy and Cain had to go undercover as a new gay couple that moved into a neighborhood, because of course they did (and it sorta worked rather than as dumb cringe as their ongoing spat over a supernatural related issue and public discussion of it was taken as Lucy just being overly dramatic in his metaphors regarding their relationship issues)

Re-watched The Silence of the Lambs over the weekend and got in the mood for more, so I bought the complete series box for Hannibal for a twenty or so.

Was hesitant to watch it because of the food porn and art faggery I saw from trailers and promo stills but the two episodes I watched last night were really good! Mikkelsen really does knock it out of the park with his portrayal of Lecter (though I have some trouble understanding him acousticly sometimes). Dancy plays well too and I like the chemistry between Lecter and Graham.

The show's cinematography is also beautiful as fuck without devolving into pretentious art faggery like I suspected it would. Also, quite a contrast to the 1991 movie when you compare them visually. The murder cases in these episodes were some disturbing but fun shit, though I hope, as the wimpy sissy that I am, that they keep the body horror to an agreeable level  :doge

Good stuff so far :like

Not really liking the latest season of American Crime Story. The ordering of events makes no sense and kills any kind of suspense or mystery. Don't really know why they put Gianni Versace in the title since the show is entirely about Andrew Cunanan.

Since Sweet Dee and Dennis are on their own shows now, does that mean Always Sunny is done?

They are under contract for two more seasons. The Mick does not interfere with Sunny because they are both Fox shows and production is scheduled so that they don’t conflict. AP Bio is an NBC show, though, so Dennis’s level of involvement is unknown. He will definitely be writing/producing, but they’ve been wispy washy about whether (and how much) he’ll appear on the show.

Finished Altered Carbon, good show, would watch a second season if it doesn't focus on finding Quell whatever.

I liked it but for a show with so much violence there is a weird lack of tension. Maybe cause everyone can re-sleeve.

Overall just great to see a show with such a "solid" feel to it. They really didn't cheap out.

Since Sweet Dee and Dennis are on their own shows now, does that mean Always Sunny is done?
The Dennis/AP Bio thing is overblown imo and them taking advantage of it, there's no reason to think he couldn't do both, especially considering Always Sunny only does ten episodes and he's still going to be writing and possibly even directing episodes. I think it may have come from potential scheduling conflicts plus last seasons ending and they thought "we should try this" because they always like to shake up the show. Always Sunny was taking an extra length break anyway. Sorta like South Park did a couple years ago and everyone freaked out about how it must mean its ending. When they just wanted to work on other stuff and recharge. I think Always Sunny did this before too. (Checked: Season 9 had an extended gap after it ended with the Thanksgiving fire. And to move the show from the Fall.)

The real question is how they play it and for how long, like Dennis is supposed to be their most competent member, but with him gone do they make everyone's lives better and bring him back to return them to the status quo by "fixing" the success. Maybe they all don't realize that their lives are improved with him gone. Or do they just sink further into the depths of madness because the sociopath that is Dennis was literally the only thing keeping them tied to society.

I think you’re mostly right about them milking the suspense, but if AP Bio ended up being a success and NBC ordered more episodes (as Fox did for S1 of The Mick), it could completely fuck the schedule and limit Dennis’ availability to appear on Sunny.

it is somewhat interesting that Glenn was borderline most successful of the gang going into the series and he's not really been boosted by it like Charlie Day was, he's doing more voice acting

iirc Rob has always preferred to be "behind the camera" and producing/writing but does Mac for the show, he's the director for the Minecraft movie which is probably going to do more to fuck up Sunny's schedule than Glenn on another sitcom :lol

none of this counting Danny DeVito of course who stepped out of Hollywood ages ago and is like an ascended fan who may or may not think it's all real

End of the F***king World was a fantastic modern True Romance x Ayoade’s Submarine/Wes Anderson mini-series. It’s hilarious, it’s touching, the acting/directing/music is great. The first five eps are pretty much perfect. It’s a little weaker in the last couple, but still good.

My favorite genre is quirky indie romance adventures, so this I thought it was pretty fantastic. Also I appreciate 20-25 min eps, I’ve never been a fan of hour long tv eps, pacing tends to drag sometimes.

Like Amazon’s Red Oaks was trying so hard to nail the nail that Wes Anderson vibe, and this show hits that feel effortlessly. It’s such a better show in that genre.

Would highly recommend it unless you are completely dead inside.

Interestingly, the Netflix rules for what is downloadable for offline viewing ALSO varies by region. Netflix content varying from region-to-region didn't surprise me. This is weird, though:

Gotham is available in both the USA and Japan, but I was able to download episodes for travel viewing in Japan, but can't download more while in the USA.

There's a heap more stuff that WON'T be available in Japan, so I'm loading up my iPad with those instead.

I finally got around to watch Stranger Things.

I give it that that I usually hate everything with kid actors in it and I am not the biggest sci-fi fan but it still entertained me. But I don't get all the fuss about it. I thought overall it was decent but season 2 felt really same-y to me.
