Cleveland played a strong second after a lackluster first. They have 8 out of their next 10 at home so they should be able to pad that win loss total and gain some continuity.

You hate Cleveland, surprised you're not hoping somebody gets hurt.....

Anyway Cav's offense looked good last night, still need to work on that defense though.

Anthony Davis is a beast. Best in the NBA within 3 years. He's next.

No, see you and your little group of "cleveland will always suck" is the anchor bringing us down. Go stan for somebody else, we don't need you.

Just for your records:

Indians won 85 games
Browns are 6-3 and in first place
Cavs are starting to play like the cheat code team they are.

Forgive me if I'm a bit excited.

Buy by all means continue to say Cleveland sucks while you drink your hipster pabst beers and bitch about everything like a 55 year old woman.

Yeah their D is reprehensible.  We all knew it would be bad, but oyyyyyy.

Passing game needs to step up as well.  They shouldn't be giving Waiters any more than 25 minutes a game, he's a black hole for the ball.

I agree with the Waiters comment. He didn't play last night and they were much more effective as a unit. The difference, offensively, was night and day. That defense though...... :goty2

Man the Pistons...gotta feel bad for Van Gundy but luckily for him he has the power to get rid of the problems at the trade deadline and offseason.

The Pistons got within two points of Chicago last night, with like 3 minutes left in the game. On their next position, before the offense even got set, Josh Smith took a wide open three and clanked it. Granted he was wide open but that's not the shot you want with a few minutes left. Chicago then went on a 12-3 run to finish the game.

Also Drummond is really struggling offensively. Only 5 shots last night...I'm baffled that he isn't getting a lot more touches and shots a game. Feed the big man.

Also, everyone (not just Dre) are missing a shitload of shots in the paint. Dunno what's going on, but they can't keep this sort of paint percentage up, it's ridiculous.

Bet a little on SAC to win earlier today, just had that good feel and the odds were far too heavily in favour of the Mavs imo. Looking good so far, 1st quarter was a massive blowout, though it got a lot tighter in the 2nd and will continue this way probably. Gays been playing reall well... No way they keep up this consistency

Yeah, I'm not sure why the missed field goals thing has gotten so much play. I mean I understand it in the since that it sort of represents the type of gunner Kobe was and the ending of that era but we all knew that anyway. I doubt most people before this knew Havlicek had the record or cared.

I'd be curious to see where Lebron is on that list.

Lebron is a career 50% shooter

Kober is a career 45% shooter and averages many more attempts a game.

Lebron would have to play as long as Kobe (doubtful) to even come close to his number.

Kobe has 13,421 missed shots to date in 18 years (minus injuries)

Lebron has 8500 missed shots to date in 11 years.

I sure didn't......I thought for sure it would have been some gunner from the 80's like Mitch Richmond. Note even close, he only missed 8733 shots.

Here's a few:

Karl Malone:  12682
Kareem:        12470
Larry Bird:       8743
Magic:             5740
Mike J:           12,345
Danny Ferry   3,110
Manute Bol:   1,510
Allen Iverson: 11,439

One this is for sure. If Jordan would not have sat out those 3 prime years he would be around 14,000 misses, for sure.

I would have thought Kareem or Karl Malone just because of their longevity.

Kobe is probably the last link to that old school way of thinking about basketball. I get into constant arguments with my older brother to this day because he's one of those types who still criticizes Lebron for too often passing at the end of the game. He just doesn't get that the game has changed. He still thinks it's 1988 and the best way to show how great a player you are is to go 1 on 5 even though its been statistically proven how inefficient that is.

But to people who grew up with a certain kind of basketball, they still think that's the macho way of playing the game.

Kobe is leading the league in scoring and field goal attempts on a terrible team with an awful fg%. If it was anybody else but Kobe doing this, he would be getting killed in the media, for being a selfish ahole. But Kobe is mostly immune to this criticism. People just go oh that's just Kobe. And he has a built in defense force in the media and with former players and because of the rings, unlike say Allen Iverson who essentially was similar at the end of his career but getting (rightfully mostly) killed for it.

I think they're having less games on nationalized game nights or something.

But 8-12 games a night is pretty standard I think.

And just to jump on the discussion last page a bit, at least 5000+ minutes 1974 forward, most missed FG per 100 team possessions:
Code: [Select]
1 Freeman Williams 15.9
2 Allen Iverson 15.8
3 Michael Jordan* 15.4
4 Kobe Bryant 15.2
5 Dominique Wilkins* 15.1
6 Tracy McGrady 15
7 Carmelo Anthony 15
8 Pete Maravich* 14.8
9 Vince Carter 14.3
10 Kyrie Irving 14.3
11 Antoine Walker 14.2
12 John Williamson 14.1
13 Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf 14.1
14 Russell Westbrook 14.1
15 Jordan Crawford 14
16 Jamal Mashburn 13.8
17 Bob Love 13.8
18 Brandon Jennings 13.8
19 Gilbert Arenas 13.7
20 Glenn Robinson 13.7
Quintin Dailey, Michael Beasley, Michael Redd, Kemba Walker and Mark Aguirre are the next five. Then you get some nice old timers like World B. Free, Rick Barry, Fred Carter, along with Jannero Pargo, Rip Hamilton and THEN LeBron. (Darrell Griffith, Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Ben Gordon, Isiah Rider next five after LeBron.)

Quote from: MCW
All anybody was talking about was “tanking.”...The media spin was that we were tanking the season so we could get the number one draft pick...As players, we all know the math. The last place team only has a 25 percent chance of winning the lottery. Grown men are going to go out and purposely mail it in for a one-in-four shot at drafting somebody who might someday take their job? Nope.

Regarding the MCW article. Tanking isn't something players do. It's something management sets in place by not acquiring talent. The players themselves are incidental to the process.
