Celtics and Pistons are gonna be scary af in a season or two.

When their PG learns Andre Drummond is the primary option the Pistons are going to be real dangerous.

I love this idea but literally they couldn't have been any more lazy in the application. For instance, why the fuck would the lakers take a point guard?

The New York Knicks are giving strong consideration to making Kurt Rambis their full-time head coach, according to league sources.

Sources told ESPN.com that Rambis, who has served as the Knicks' interim coach since Derek Fisher was fired Feb. 8, is the preferred choice of team president ‎Phil Jackson, who sources say is pushing for a new multiyear deal for Rambis

I've seen so many 2016 WARRIORS VS 1996 BULLS stories/threads/conversations this last week. Oddly few of them have touched on any of three things that I would find interesting to watch in the matchup.

1. The Bulls could play Rodman at center for most of the game, something that hurt them (and drained him) at times in the 1990's but arguably let them put their best lineups on the floor. Even when Bogut's out there. Along with Kukoc taking stints at "power forward" against Harrison Barnes it actually makes the '96 Bulls matchup better with the Warriors than a lot of historical teams. But...

2. It also bites them on the other end. Their Harper-Jordan-Pippen ability to switch on the perimeter ground teams into dust, but which one are you sacrificing against Curry? You can't let Jordan burn himself out trying to do it like he nearly did against Payton in the Finals. I'm not sure Harper's up to it. Or that you want to take Pippen's centrality to the Bulls defense out of the equation.

3. Regarding the rules, if they're the 2016 ones, the Bulls basically have little three point shooting, and play most of the game with two scorers. If they're the 1996 ones, the Warriors can now shoot threes from two feet closer. And somebody still has to literally chase Curry around the outside, even with the handchecking advantage. And the rest of the Bulls have to keep up with the Warriors picks and cuts.

Not checked for sure, but I imagine a potential Clips-Spurs-Cavs murderers row is a tougher one than the second set of Bulls had to run in any single playoff run. I remember a lot of benchless Atlanta and Miami teams getting beat up.

Also, if the Warriors win 73, they'll need to go 64-18 next year to snag the three year win record away from the 1996-98 Bulls.

EDIT: Forgot the fourth thing.

Absolutely incorrect. Harder fouls, hand checks, no zone defense.

Who's guarding Jordan?

Who's guarding Pippen?

Pippen or Jordan would out score curry in a direct match up.

I triple fucking dare you to say Curry puts up more points that Jordan.

Bulls would have no answer for a three point oriented team, especially with a closer line.  This isn't to say that the bulls are worse team, it's just to say that it's a stupid exercise.

I mean his general sentiment isn't incorrect, but any point he's trying to make is completely overshadowed by his hysteria. Kobe 'destroyed a franchise'? That's hilariously stupid, even for Whitlock, unless Kobe secretly firebombed Little Ceasars out of business

Whitlock isn't wrong about Kobe being overrated and almost never being the best player in the league. Did Kobe harm the Lakers with contracts and stupid demands? Sure but ultimately the front office ruined the Lakers. Bad drafts, bad FA signings year after year. So as usually Whitlock is exaggerating.

Whitlock is one of the worst people in sports media and a template for one of the worst sports media tropes: the black guy who "tells it like it is" on race. Which actually means making broad generalizations about black people, catering to white resentment, and throwing in a bit of fax militant shit so people think you're down with the cause.

He's a perfect fit on Cowherd's show. Cowherd is just the type of resentful racist that sports media caters to.
