This game is so good that I didn't mind starting over and also found some quests and items that I missed the first time around.  Also has gone much faster and I'm already catching up to where I was story-wise since I spent most of the previous 9 hours mainly wandering around, lol.

Went right for the thief class this time around and also made my pawn a magic user as opposed to being an archer.

And also got that corset armor back  :P

Finally cashed in my pawn first thing.  Got a good 5K+ RC.
:woooo

Rift crystals went through a bit of deflation in DD2, 5K is actually a lot this time around.

Jenna is super popular, btw. She has more likes and hearts than almost any other pawns I've used on my list.

Trickster is bad until like level 5. Being able to attach your projection to enemies changes everything and can force entire groups of enemies to aggro to a boss monster. It's pretty rad.

The pawn buff is worth bringing over to Warfarer. It feels like a substantial increase to DPS

Made some better progress over the weekend.  Up to level 26.  Ended up doing one random escort that took me way west unto the border gate.  Took me almost 3 days of a trek.  The way quests unfold in this feels so organic.

Just when I was about to max out my fighter vocation and change to Warrior, I happened to come across a Meister for Fighter, AND the Mystic Spearhand vocation at the same time. Lol  So of course, I went with Mystic Spearhand.   After getting really good with the fighter and using parries and such, it was a bit jarring having to completely change my playstyle with technically no defense, but I started coming around once I reached around lvl 3 of the MS vocation; having to use certain moves for dodging.  Shit is fucking awesome... Already feels a bit OP with that AOE shield cast.

Since going with it, I decided to change my pawn to Warrior.  I pretty much always had my pawn as that in DD1, so wanted to rock it out again, as I like having that as the main backer.

Cyber, once I reached lvl 25, I was going to complete a fight with a Wight I was having and head back to the rift and finally cash out Faye…  But on the way back, she just up and disappeared.  I think she fell off a cliff or something and couldn't see her to revive her anywhere, which sucks because I wasn’t able to do a proper send off.  Once I had the chance, I rehired her so I could at least give a gift and a ranking.  She was then lvl 40 something, and looked really cool.  Hopefully she brought in some decent Rift Skrilla, as she went through 20+ lvls with my crew.  Looking forward to using her again!

This game is the shiznit.

Thanks man.

I'm on NG+ so Jenna is back on the squad.

I didn't like most of the mages in the rift so I was like "I'll do it myself". So many players don't have the right skills on or dress their pawns in the string bikini.  Started a new character on a different profile so I can make another pawn.

Sent over endgame gear and equipment, dragonforged. Just need to get the Mage super skill and she should be set. She'll be the best low level mage in the game, at least on PS5.  :lol

About got all of the first area map covered and about to trek past the giant gate to Desert Catland.  Maxed out my Mystic Spearhand vocation and went back to fighter to top it off as well.  The extra meister move/flurry for fighter is ballistic and somewhat OP, but fun as shit.  Need to figure out how to get my pawn to start understanding that elvish language.  I have a pawn hired to do so, but want mine to learn as well... I'm assuming it has to do with some side quest in their little hidden region?

Just need to raise the affinity of one of the elves and they should gift it to you.

The most common/easiest one is the innkeep. Give her one Bunch of Flowers a day for a couple of days and that should do it.

EDIT: I don't think the archer dude will work. I had him maxed and he didn't give the scroll. The Innkeep did after 3 days and 3 gifts.

I want to swooze his sister actually, just haven't found her yet... Not planning to leave that area until I do.  I did his initial archer quest he offers at the beginning only just recently.  Surely she's there somewhere, or he'll offer some other quest that involves her?  Hopefully I didn't time out of it or something.

Yes. She is involved in a couple quests, actually.

Awesome! Congrats!  And thanks for all the help too!
I hope there isn't a trophy for reaching lvl 200 like DD;DA had...  :doge

I still got a looong way to go.  Got so much going on this weekend, I'll probably only get half the time I wanted to play too. :dead

Nah, no level trophy. I'm close to 90 though.  :doge

I'm making copies of all the rare monster parts now, some of which can be a pain. If you ever need one, let me know. Eldricite is needed for a lot of magic gear and the drop rate is very low.

Might take a break, not much left to do. I don't want to level up my second character because I like that pawn being low level.

Gonna try to jump back into Unicorn Overlord but man, it feels weird to not be playing this. It sucked up all my free time this past month, I'm going to miss it.  :cry

I may juggle this and Stellar Blade when it drops next week, but will be spreading this out for a bit.

According to that big Capcom leak, the big dlc; The Dragon Princess, is supposedly coming in November?  Guess we'll see.

The archer moveset is really fun. I always have a bow on warfarer, even if I'm not using an archer skill.

There is something really satisfying about kicking things in the face.  8)

I will probably push Archer hard on NG+ when I swap roles between my Arisen and Pawn.  I switched vocations again and switched back to an archer for my pawn to max that vocation, and now I'm ready to start my Warrior build for my Arisen.  Can't wait to wreck some shit.

I'm at a point where Brant stated if I had any unfinished business to attend to before taking on the next main, I wasn't sure what would be cancelled out or missed, so I wanted to enter the gate to Cat Desert and continue the elven sides quests I got..  Before attemting to use the cart to "sneak" into the main gate, I decided to fill one little segment of the map real quick... one little cave led out to a cliffside, which had a narrow cliffside path to a small overrun village.. Then right past it on the rocky beach, there was a large stone staircase that, sure enough, was the backdoor into Batthal's main city.  Very cool.  I hope it didn't cancel out my chance for the "I'm in" trophy.  This game rules.

Some more Lolz Dogma...

Dragon’s Dogma II debuted as the best-selling premium game of March and the 3rd best-selling game of 2024 YTD. With just one month in market, Dragon’s Dogma II has already surpassed the life-to-date tracked dollar sales of Dragon’s Dogma and Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen combined.

Never would've dreamed, but this may warrant Cap to get Itsuno to do DD3.  There's still so much potential.
Let's be honest, DMC is great, but ffs, we have 5 of them.. let DD get the more lovin' it deserves.

Meanwhile, finally got my pawn to be fluent in elvish.  Spent a bit too much time though escorting the elven brother... Couldn't figure out where he wanted to go, so I spanned quite a bit of Battahl.  Did find the Trickster vocation at least, but over the process, he died twice because he would wander off on occasion like an idiot.

Then it finally registered.. and realized it's a pretty stupid issue that should be addressed.  On the world map, the escort goal markers only show when you're more zoomed in.  Wtf.  They should remain visible like the main quests and everything else when scaled all the way out.  It's kind of dumb.  At least I got some good map coverage, but I wasted so much time focusing on babysitting his ass not knowing where he wanted to be dropped off... He wouldn't say either.

Did get some good warrior action going. Shit is super fun just wrecking shit.

Really hope they have a big DLC cooking. Them being so radio silent on any kind of extra content is weird but most all Capcom games get content drops and stuff. Even Monster Hunter Stories 2 had a roadmap and extra DLC content 6+ months after release. DD2 outsold that game after only a few days.

I’m wondering how much say Capcom has on what content to trim and sell as DLC.  There’s no doubt something sizeable is coming, though I would keep expectations in check to not expect the girth of BBI.  But I could be completely wrong (and I hope I am).  Whatever they’ll charge, I’ll eat it up without batting an eye.  They just better not make me buy a whole new version of the game to get it.  Don’t think Capcom would have the gall to pull that off again though.
