UYI 2> UYI1

Izzy is missed.

This I Love is amazing and really the only track off of CD that I play from time to time. Perhaps unsurprisingly that song dates back to the mid 90s apparently.

My actual triumph of the day came earlier in the week. Got a job interview set up for tuesday. Fingers crossed it goes well.

Felt a jolt on the highway during lunch but couldn't tell what happened. I exited and drove a mile and right when I got to Taco Bell, I heard the rumbling sound of a flat tire. My car made sure to get me to my destination before complaining, bless him. ♥

A crazy amount. Before I started they had most IT support outsourced so the "support + Licencing + Voip DDI shit" was around 56k a year or something crazy, vs new system which is like 25k and does the same shit.

Bonuses come in soon so will be putting that in my case for getting one.

Didn't get the job.

Our government awards contracts using a point system. There were a few categories, including the quality of the plan.
My plan had a 100% score. All 30 points I could get for the plan. Boom.
Especially because we didn't just hit all the boxes but also questioned their shitty prototype as it did not meet their project goals.

My offer was 90k, which was below the maximum allowed budget of 100k.

So why would the government reject a plan with a 100% score?
Well, someone scored 51% on their plan but offered the web application for a grand total of 20k. Less than 1/3 of our asking price.
No wonder all government IT projects fail with dumb points systems like these that force them to choose the worst plan.

The government could've had something great. Now they get garbage.
I hope it crashes and burns.

I wrote it for our agency and the panel that had to decide received everything anonymous.

The entire process involved a broke ass tender management system, which could not handle projects with more than one expense.
So you had to fill in a Word template with listed prices and put a (and I quote) 'fictional price of 1' in the box for price as it was a required field. :doge
Looking at the UI it seems like at some point it was to be renewed (some screens had entirely different designs) and they never bothered to finished it.
I've never seen something so poorly designed in my life and I've seen m0dus creations.

For a government IT project, $100k (and especially $20k) seems cheap as hell.

What was tye scope of the project if you can say? Like a new database system, website redesign, or something else?

Finished two weeks at my new job. Still miss my old crew, but the new group seems to be largely happy that I'm there, and appreciative of my efforts. One person in particular seemed defensive and skeptical, now seems to be trusting that I'm actually there to help instead of taking over. Anyway, it's super busy, but things are going well and I feel like I'm coming up to speed, fast.

I don't really get what it is when you share stuff from it. :-[

No worries! When it's available it's easy to get when you start using it.

Basically, in 2017 I noticed there were 8000+ chiptunes on chipmusic.org but no way to listen to them consecutively or randomly. Which led to this:

It shuffled through those 8000 songs on autoplay, and since the chiptune scene is awesome they're all some variation of Creative Commons so it's totally cool. 8)

I started work on a 2.0 about a year ago, but it got stuck in development hell... 2.0 Mark II started up about three weeks ago and is so much more awesome. The big change is it pairs a random gif (of the tag "pixel art") from Giphy to each random chiptune being played. :D

Screeeeeeens
