I get a real kick out of Breaking Bad moralizers. No one should feel much sympathy for anyone on the show, really. And especially the big three, considering that just LAST episode ago they

spoiler (click to show/hide)
chopped up a little boy and dissolved him in hydroflouric acid just to avoid paying for the consequences of their actions.
[close]

They're all murderers, multiple times over. Just because some of them felt bad or caught feelings about it afterwards doesn't make them any less of the scummy criminals they are.  Walt nailed it when he was berating Jesse for still taking the money, and I think that bit was Vince Gilligan speaking indirectly to the audience. Don't feel bad for any of these people. They all rationalize their crimes and try to cover their asses.  They all have it coming.

True Blood finale was epic. This was the creator of the show's last season and he said in an interview that he's confident that he's leaving it in good hands. They set up so much shit for next season. Alcide the pack-master, Andy's babies, Bill becoming a god. Oh and the whole Authority being exposed on national TV.

The thing I really didn't like about this episode, and in hindsight the last one:

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Mike was always super cautious. Yet he only ties one of Walt's hands up in the previous episode. This might have been an acceptable overlook if not for tonight's ep, where Mike meets Walt alone and doesn't seem on guard at all; he knew a gun was in the bag afterall. They seem like convenient lapses to allow the writers to kill him off
[close]

I think what this guy says makes the most sense.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=41449219&postcount=13082

Mike knew what was possibly going to happen.

Todd is waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy smarter than anyone is giving him credit for.  He's not writing all that shit down in his little notebook just because he wants to be a good student.

Some of that has to do with the role he played on Friday Night Lights. Landry was the dumbest smart guy on TV. Many viewers are still pissed at what happened in season 2 with Tyra and the shooting, which was really out there for a show about HS football. Poor guy even got turned down by that lesbian girl in his band.

Who said we're moralizing? Who said anything about sympathy? My overall point are the people who root for Walt, and then like, well, Walt killed my favorite character! When a year ago he poisoned a kid. "Walt is a piece of shit, I can't support him now!" No shit? Or how they rationalize every single thing Walt does rather than accept the point is to show the fall of a once ordinary, plane jane man. Don't make the mistake of thinking that anyone calling out Walt fans are actually getting on a high horse because the show is chock full of bad people. But we don't root for self absorbed assholes who think their little pathetic meth "empire" is one worth rooting for, particularly during this season.

Comparing Scarface to Walt is a little over-the-top. Not only is Tony charismatic and (for the most part) treat his loved ones well, when he goes down in a big rut, you feel sympathy despite he's a crime lord and wanna see him go out with a bang. Breaking Bad, however, takes a more human look at crime; Scarface is a fucking carton in comparison, and that's why I like it.

I watched the first season of Wilfred. I had always avoided that show because I thought it looked like a bunch of pretentious crap. There is a bit of pretension but I was surprised at how much I really liked it. And my lord Jason Gann is amazing as Wilfred.

Eh. That was me. My argument is that Wilfred is formulaic and season 1 got the formula down. Season 2 is just a mere repetition of the same format, but for cheap laughs. So it feels canned, when the story of Wilfred does not lend well to multiple seasons due to its thematic episodes and subject matter. There's only so many episodes before watching a man talk with a dog gets old, and he finds some other way to ruin his life or someone elses with said dog. It's just repetitive, and season 1 ended on an interesting note that requires no season 2.

So I had to go to the hospital for an operation on my knee and while I was there I watched a metric ton of tv.  Like way too fucking much.

Anyway, on one my many tv watching marathons while laying in bed I came across something...something so....so.....  I don't even have the words.  I could be the pain meds talking but Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is fucking amazing.  That's got to be the most country, backasswards, families I've ever seen and it's pretty hilarious.  It's like a chicken fried, nose picking, hard fartin' version of The Osbournes.   It's also great how each episode is subtitled because otherwise there's no way anyone could understand these tards.

Must see to appreciate.

I loved the part where Sugar Bear took "Mama" June out for a date to a cafeteria and gave her a 50 pound bronze deer for a gift because they both enjoy collecting roadkill and storing it in their cooler.

ROMANCE.

The show's got it all.

Now I just read that Wednesdays episode was more popular than the RNC convention. :american

I thought it wasn't bad, although I hated the plot device introduced at the end. That NEVER works whether on film, tv, or video games. And from what I've seen from the S2 promos I'm not even sure how much impact it has, which makes the decision even more baffling

With respect to the previous episode of Homeland...

I'm pretty sure US tv shows can't show the deaths of presidents or vice presidents on screen. I knew the bomb wouldn't go off from the very beginning. Also, killing Brody would have been ballsy but a waste imo

Watched Terriers again over the labor day weekend.   :'( (But also  :D)

Speaking of FX, Charlie Sheen's show got a 90 episode renewal.

Suits is great.

Necessary Roughness may be better than you expect.

I love Boss. And NTSF:SD:SUV:: and Childrens Hospital.

Even Covert Affairs has been pretty good this season. And I gobble up all the inoffensive enjoyable crap USA shovels me.

One issue I had with NTSF was that it didn't live up to the fake ads in Childrens Hospital.

"I don't negotiate with terrorists, BECAUSE I AM ONE!"

It's doing better this season though. It may be from watching her dick around on Voyager for a decade but Kate Mulgrew seems like she loves playing Kove.
