Foggy is supposed to be an obnoxious schlub, at least that's how he was in the comics I read

Yeah that's who he i always he is. He's great here too and doing some great dramatic lifting imo. As a huge v2 DD fan I honestly have no complaints about this show. Everyone is knocking out the park for me. D'Onofrio's Fisk especially.

I liked Daredevil a lot altogether but~

spoiler (click to show/hide)
I didn't really like that final shot, it should have ended with Fisk looking at the wall. The final shot was way too comic booky, which for some of you is great but it just seemed silly to me. And I hope Karen goes through the ringer next season because she got two good characters killed(Wesley  :'().

Can you expand on that without spoilers, or is that not possible?

In a non spoilery way: the show is in such a mess narratively that a lot of story lines are starting to drag hard. This is a book issue too, but at least Martins prose makes that bearable sometimes. In show form it is not doing the production any favors.

The fact that the show is starting to further be written more out of whole cloth is also showing that Benioff and Weiss still do not hold a candle to Martin.

These first four episodes are extremely average even for the shows standards with a handful of highlights.

No.  season 1-3 of smallville are stinkers, and season 9 is so lame I never got past it.  4-7 are pretty good though.

Got excited for all these :rejoice shows coming out (including the whole season of Daredevil dropping) but instead I downloaded the pilot of Justified on Friday just to see what it was like in retrospect with the series finale coming up and ended up marathoning the first two seasons over the weekend (didn't help I was stuck in with a cold but still...)

The show really was god-tier from episode one. I don't think I quite appreciated it at the time. Probably best dialogue in tv history and I stand by that.

Executive Producers for TV are different from Executive Producers from film. The ones from TV is the showrunner and if not they, they are heavily involved in decision making. It's the highest rank of producers in TV. For film, it could just be the person who brings in the money.

I was surprised from the start how the pilot and some early episodes were more or less Justified, maybe with a couple growing pains, but it was all there. Then it takes some weird swerves into "colorful procedural" and back in ways that really colored my perception of the show at the time - I remember my takeaway was "colorful procedural".

The show is great. Couple fight scenes could maybe be cut a little better but it's still easily the best thing MCU since IM1 took off.

I was lukewarm on the first episode and didn't start enjoying it a bunch until then. It's definitely designed and written to be watched in two or three big chunks at a time.

Weakest part of it was the the serial stuff (angelus etc) but I liked that they addressed the idea of wanting that..power fairly early in the show. Even if it's cliche. I also liked that female guest star. She played "old soul" well.

She played "old soul" well. That's another lowkey strength of the show. Boreanas seemed to have chemistry with every female cast member? If anything his relationship/connection with Marla seemed the most forced.
