That GLOW doc is super duper good.

I like the new show well enough, but it does feel very OITNB so I can't stop myself from preemptively disliking it because I know how steep the decline will be between seasons.

Started Person of Interest for that formulaic action buzz. Six episodes in, it's pretty good. I thought it was Joseph Fiennes, but apparently it's Jim Cazaviel? He does a good job with the agent-who-needs-a-reason-to-live, and his guarded, mastermind genius partner is oddly charming.

It's Jim Cazaviel. I liked that series up to a point but essentially started hating it from where most people seem to love it.

I enjoyed it pretty well most of the way through. I think the cast of characters got a bit too large and jumbling their plot/relationship stuff dragged things down and took away from the core duo which are the show's strength.

Watching one of those "Eh, probably shouldn't admit to watching this garbage" kinda TV shows on Netflix because I ran out of shows to watch. It's not overlying exciting, but it's okay to keep me occupied.

Time to admit that Desperate Housewives is one of my favorite shows. Too many hilarious characters and scenarios. Every person I showed it to got addicted and ended up binge-watching it. :lol

Worth a try if you like this one, even though it "sounds" bad. It's a pretty solid comedy-drama.

Lmao it's terrible. Such hilariously B level (sometimes C level) acting.
There was a lot of questionable stuff going on (like all that stupid love filler), but I was in it for the trial. I went into this without knowing more than who his laywer was and that he was in jail. So I assumed he was found guilty of the murder crime and holy shit was I in for a surprise. He seemed to fuck up his life after this, going to court tons of times for stuff he actually did. 33 years for armed robbery? I was really shocked, what a sad story. Funny timing that his new hearing for possible parole in 2017 is set to be next week.

I actually thought he was guilty of the murders when watching this, mostly because of the previous beatings and 911 calls. But I want to know what is the general theory in the US? If it wasn't him, someone got away with it.

The best OJ anything you can watch is that ESPN documentary that's just a compilation of news footage.

Have you seen O.J. Made in America? I think June 17th, 1994 is cool, and innovative with its exclusive use of TV footage, but Made in America is a incredible social portrait. It's so fucking good.

Definitely go ahead and watch June 17th, 1994 first and then Made in America.

Kaffir, I just haven't had much to say outside of dumb tweets for a while. That's been my outlet for years, and I don't even post on there nearly as much anymore. Made in America was probably the strongest I felt about a piece of pop culture in a while.

Crammed all of The Defiant Ones last night. It's basically a four hour long Beats commercial but it's still pretty good. Seeing two dudes from pretty much total opposite ends of the spectrum having such a tremendous working relationship is fascinating.
A few random observations
-Warner paid Tupac's bail, not Suge
-When they were dating, Jimmy Iovine would literally make Stevie Knicks hide in his basement whenever Tom Petty came over
-Dre talks about Dee Barnes in non-PR mode for the first time that I can recall
-Trent Reznor still hates Steve Gottlieb
-50 Cent has been almost completely erased from the Interscope history books. He's almost entirely absent apart from a couple shots from his videos and one scene when Dre and Jimmy are using the In Da Club as a reference track when tuning a car stereo

Worth a watch if you're into music nerd shit

I'll watch but self-made documentaries tend to paint rosier pictures, to put it lightly. Similarly to how Straight Outta Compton apparently made Dre and Cube look great while shitting on Eazy (I still haven't seen it). I heard Iovine mention they delve into the east coast/west coast shit a bit, so that should be interesting.

Oh it definitely does exactly that for the most part. It's not to the degree that Straight Outta Compton was, but there's plenty of praise lavishly heaped on Dre and Jimmy.
The part that covers the Death Row beef is a highlight. It's hilarious seeing interviews with Bono and Tom Petty talking about how out of his depth Jimmy was and listening to suits incredulously describe how he made them wear vests when they went out in public and shit.

Also, and I should have mentioned this in the first post, but Snoop Dogg does a hilarious Jimmy Iovine impression. Maybe my favorite part of the whole thing

Started watching The Get Down a couple days ago and I'm already starting Season 2.

It's really, really good, and I hope Mylene dies so badly. I don't have a great reason besides that I feel like the writers just threw her in there to fill out a romance formula. She's not really attractive but maybe I'm really subjective against the "curvy" types. The bigger sin is that her personality is so vapid which creates a huge contrast between her and every single other character on the show.

Yet almost every male in this world is supposedly busting a nut over her? This doesn't make any sense and really, really makes me feel uncomfortable whenever she's on screen because I'm either too dumb to get the joke the writers are making or she's written for a thirsty af audience.

Finished watching Kimmy Schmidt S3 and The Americans S4.
Both are fine shows but entropy & thin stretch of the material is starting to take its toll on both. Kimmy... was a bit uneven and lacked a good overall arc, The Americans is starting to repeat itself (basically every season finale is the same, with a close call with FBI agents).

Kinda fear it will be the same for Orange is the new black (well, the show is already there), Better Call Saul and Hijack Horseman.

Americans S5 is really good and feels like they're moving to a planned conclusion. The caveat is that it's even more of a slow boil than usual, but the second half or so of the season is fantastic.

Kimmy Schmidt, loved S1, was getting bored in S2, and I'll probably just binge the completed series in a few years while bored and high or sick.

similar story here
I've been meaning to tell you something.  My sister in law got a dog recently that's tiny and cute.  She named him Ace.  But for some reason my wife and I started calling him Momo.  We got the rest of my wife's family to start too.  Now he answers when you call him by Momo.  You can sit there and say "Ace.  Come here Ace" and nada.  Say "Momo" and he whips his head around and comes running towards you.  So every time I see your name when you post I hear my sister in law yelling at me "His name isn't Momo!"

This was me. It a very very aimless show. But works better as a 2 episodes at a time thing. I actually sat down and rewatched it and it's actually really good.
