Trek has a greater volume of bad than Star Wars but it also has a far greater volume of good.
Star Wars has 3, or 2-2.5 depending on who you ask movies that are worth watching.
Trek has at least five to six movies worth watching, two seasons of TOS, 4-5 seasons of TNG, 7 seasons of DS9. I won't even mention Voyager, ENT, or DIS.
With each good Star Wars movie being about 2 hours a movie that’s six hours worth of good content.
By comparison, given there’s more better Trek movies (five or so) than there’s Wars movies they’re already outclassed. With Trek episodes being 40 minutes long, it would take 9 good episodes of Star Trek episodes to match the three good Star Wars movies, all of which are more varied and better written, all of which can be achieved with one single season of the original Star Trek alone.
Essentially, Trek fucks Wars in the ass.
I’m not sure Jay-Z vs Nas is a good comparison.
Star Wars is so braindead I can’t find a suitable music comparison. Even Hov is above that comparison and has a larger body of work that’s considered good than Star Wars. You have to find something that was good, but ultimately shallow even though it managed to tug your heart strings, but kept trucking years and years after its prime. I actually think comparing Star Wars to Jay is insulting to Jay.
Star Wars is 50 Cent. Dude has two good albums and after that it's a wet fart as the dude tries to stay relevant to the point where eventually he starts copying others rather than staying to his style. Much like how Star Wars tries to mimic the Marvel feel these days when it used to set the trends rather than follow them.
I’ll settle with Trek Nas comparison because I can’t think of anything besides 2pac that’s analogous.
I know the Nas lost meme as a Nas head. Just didn’t see how it related to Trek.
