Installed Origin, downloading...yay!

/although I still want to get my new 3d card and play through Crysis Warhead before playing Crysis 2; but I should be getting my card in a few weeks.  Will probably wait and play Bulletstorm then too.

I still haven't played the first one or expansion, but at $12 whatever;  I like having rpgs to play in my backlog even if they're supposed to be shitty!   :lol

If OnLive gets 45,000 Likes by September 6th, they'll release a coupon to get Batman: Arkham Asylum for 99 cents:

http://www.facebook.com/OnLive

Considering they're already above 44,000, it should happen pretty soon.

For those who don't know, Green Man Gaming has a refer program where if you create an account off of someones refer and buy something for at least 5 bucks, you and the referrer gets 5 bucks back.
And Green Man Gaming is a fairly new site that's been having tons of deals and coupon vouchers. I got Deus Ex: HR for 34 bucks with a voucher.
Right now there's a voucher coupon that can be redeemed for 1 game per account. the code is: 20SUM-MERSA-VINGS. It's for 20% off.
I used it to get Arkham City for 33 bucks.

So if you don't have an account I suggest you create one. I use this Gaf thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=443036 to learn of new deals since they are pretty up to date.

If you want to create an account, might as well use a refer link so you get a $5 credit when you buy something
Here it is:
http://www.greenmangaming.com/?gmgr=zaxoqofu

use it or don't, whatevs.

I just received an auto-renew "threat" mail from Microsoft about my XBL Gold subscription. I don't want it to use my US credit card, and it won't take my Japanese card.

What is the cool-guy solution for getting XBL Gold these days? Is there a place that commonly has them on sale?

Sure, you could do it that way too. Some stuff is untransferable though. If you're ok with that, go nuts.

There's also the issue of rights/licenses, I think.

everything except preorders is 60% off on Origin with the code "ORIGIN60" and you must use the client, not the website.

it's the same stuff that's always discounted on Origin because EA is desperate, but bioware point cards are on sale too.  So for anyone else who wanted ME2 DLC and pissed that Bioware's site never has sales or a goty edition, it seems like the closest to getting discounted dlc on pc.

what's the consensus on ME2 DLC? I heard good things about Shadow Broker

Lair of the Shadow Broker is great, Overlord is decent with a neat plot hook, and Kasumi is okay but really short [just one linear mission]. They're all worth picking up on the cheap.

Haven't played Arrival yet.

new humble bundle that's not the humble bundle at all: http://www.indieroyale.com/

ARES Extinction (kinda mega man x inspired)
Gemini Rue (blade runner/cyberpunk point and click adventure game)
Sanctum (first person tower defenzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)
Nimbus (puzzle/platformer)

basically, as more people buy the price is raised, so buying earlier is better.  Right now it's at just over $2.  or the price drops if people spend more.  I don't know how it works.
